I am wondering if any has experienced a loss of sexual desire as well as a total loss for human affection while on heart medications and beta blockers? If so, did this last forever or did you build a tolerance to these meds that brought back your human desires for love and affection?

I am a 37 year old female, in relatively good shape, low end of normal blood pressure, no heartburn etc. Sometimes my heart feels like someone put it in a vise-hurts to breath. Usually happens when I am at rest, never while I am active. This has been happening for years. My doctor has never detected a murmur.

I'm young, slender, and have low cholesterol. I also almost never exercise and don't eat right since I can get away with it with my high metabolism. There's a history of heart problems in my family. I myself have MVP, among other things.

Starting about a year and a half ago, I began experiencing various combinations of the following symptoms when performing moderate exercise (such as walking on a hot day or running up a few flights of stairs) or when under a lot of stress (like at my job):

-my heart "pounding" or feeling "funny"
-sharp pain in my chest, like with really bad heartburn, often accompanied by great nausea
-weakness in my left arm/hand and aching in my left shoulder, especially under my arm and in my armpit
-a throbbing, aching pain on the left side of my neck going up into my jaw by my ear. This was most often accompanied by a pounding heartbeat, dizziness, weakness, and feeling out of breath.
-cold sweats and feelings of panic

Can u have a heart attack in your 20s?

Lately my heart pounds rapidly, more than 5 times a day; it is the kind of feeling like when you’re excited or surprised or scared. Could this be a mild heart attack? Should I consult a doctor for this?

This has been happening for more than 2 weeks ever since I met and chatted with a male colleague, who came to my office for some training (we are located at different offices and never spoken to each other before). I know some of you might think that it’s an attraction or perhaps infatuation, but I believe I don’t feel any of those. However, he keeps visiting my head since that day I spoke to him, and then I felt my heart beat racing.

Any advice, possibly from a doctor? Please assure me that it’s not that I’ve fallen for him or something cos I really don’t think that’s what I feel. I don’t really know him and we’ve met only a couple of times since I started working here a year ago (he’s been here for some 5-6 years, I heard).

Thank you for your kind advice.
