I am wondering if any has experienced a loss of sexual desire as well as a total loss for human affection while on heart medications and beta blockers? If so, did this last forever or did you build a tolerance to these meds that brought back your human desires for love and affection?

Beta-blockers
Beta-blockers control the speed and force of heart beats by blocking the action of hormones such as adrenaline that make the heart beat faster and more vigorously.
They are effective in preventing angina. They can also lower raised blood pressure, reduce the risk of further heart attacks and help control abnormal heart rhythms.
Side-effects include constriction of the air passages and small blood vessels, leading to cold hands and feet. They can conceal low blood sugar levels in diabetics - "selective" beta-blockers are less likely to do this than other forms of the drug.
Tiredness or fatigue may also be experienced.(BBC News)
Common adverse drug reactions (ADRs) associated with the use of beta blockers include: Sexual dysfunction and Erectile Dysfunction.
Beta blockers (sometimes written as β-blockers) are a class of drugs used for various indications, but particularly for the management of cardiac arrhythmias and cardioprotection after myocardial infarction. Whilst once first-line treatment for hypertension, their role was downgraded in June 2006 in the United Kingdom to fourth-line as they perform less well than other drugs, particularly in the elderly, and there is increasing evidence that the most frequently used beta-blockers at usual doses carry an unacceptable risk of provoking type 2 diabetes (Wikipedia)
Consult your doctor.

first of all how many are you on? how long have you been taking them? have you improved your diet?

have you taken off weight?

do you hydrate properly....

yes this is a normal side effect but in some cases it can wear off and your normal sexual function can improve.

also talk with the doctor who prescribed this to you.
