I am a 37 year old female, in relatively good shape, low end of normal blood pressure, no heartburn etc. Sometimes my heart feels like someone put it in a vise-hurts to breath. Usually happens when I am at rest, never while I am active. This has been happening for years. My doctor has never detected a murmur.

If you're stressed, this can cause an irregular heart beat.

Has your Dr. even mentioned tachachardia to you? Among other things, You should see a cardiologist, someone who will listen, seems like you haven't been checked out very well.
Also thinking it could be in the lungs, and one other thing, i had bad pain in my chest years ago, thinking it was my heart, but turned out to be ulcers way up there. Could be so many things, get checked out.
Good luck.

It sounds like your doctor isn't sure of what the problem is. You should ask him or her for a referral to a specialist. If this has been going on for years it could be developing into something very serious, please don't wait too long before asking OK?

It sounds like u hav palpitations. If it occours most of d time then u shud seek medical help. Bt if i say that heart problems shud b diagnosed as early as possible. So its better if u see ur doc.

The pain might not be in your heart. It could be in the lungs or diaphram.

You should thoroughly discuss it with your doctor and you might consider echo imaging of your heart and chest. There could be plaque build-up in your arteries and you would need to get that treated.
