I think you should see a doctor...sounds like anxiety...I don't think you are having heart trouble since your heart is in the middle of your chest and the first pains of a heart attack are usually your left arm and side of chest BUT again, I am not a doctor, and definitely think something that persistent should be checked out by a physician.

NurseJ is right! But, she left out jaw pain on the left side. Everything goes to the left side. Also, if you are female, you CAN experience middle of the back pain as well, like someone taking a 50# sledge hammer to your back. In men, it's like an elephant stepping on their chest. In women, the pain in chest area PLUS the sledge hammer to the back. GO TO THE EMERGENCY ROOM NOW!

You have to be careful if you have pains in your chest and this is not the best place to ask - unless there happens to be a medical person on line. I would strongly advise you to see a doctor. It could be wind but it could also be something more serious.

ok these ppl are freaking out, it could be really serious but i had severe chest pain for 3 years before my evil mother would finally take me to get it checked and it turned out to be Mitral valve prolapse its just where the mitral valve in your heart allows a little oxidized blood to leak back and it cause chest pain, anxitey, irregular blood pressure, hot or cold flashes, and alot of emotional
things, I take a simple medication that blocks the hormones that cause the pain and drink extra water and exercise now and im fine, hope you have the same luck with it.

You should see your doctor even though MANY things can cause chest pain. Heartburn, infection, and pulled muscles are just a few.
