Yes, especially if you this symptom is present when you lay down. If you are having pain/tightness in your chest please go to the ED and have some lab work done, along with an ECG, & chest X-ray to rule-out MI.

Not sure if obesity can cause tightness in the ribs, but I do know there are many health issues at stake when it comes to overweight. If you are or a friend is experiencing that tightness in the rib area, I recommend contacting your physician as soon as possible. Best of luck to you.

It did for me. I wasn't mordidly obese, but at 200 pounds and 5 ft 3 in, i was very much obese. I had trouble breathing that I didn't even realize until I got below 170. Now that i'm down to 140, a lot of aches and pains i didn't realize i had learned to live with are gone.

It can, BUT, with any tightness in the area around your heart whether the same side or opposite, YOU need to go see your doctor. The tightness might only feel like it is in your ribs which can also be a sign of a heart attack.
Please go see you doctor.

My brother is an asthmatic and after ten years his allergies has shown no signal of convalescing. He has been to numerous medical doctors yet they did not help a lot. in case you pick a shown, all-organic thanks to treatment your allergies, while not having to pay for ineffective drugs with risky area-effects, then it truly is the biggest web page you'll ever examine.
