Two days ago, my Dad's doctors found that a couple of his arteries were blocked. They performed a Stent on his right femoral artery. What are the precautionary steps my Dad need to take regarding movements like working around the house now, and in the near future? Thank you all so much.

Blood Pressure- 100/60

On 4 occasions I have experienced this intensely. Usually when anxiety is occuring.. with a fast heart rate. Once it happened after I ran up 7 flights of stairs. I do not do any cardiovascular workouts so this is alot for me and causes a very fast heart rate.. When this occurs I can feel my artery by my shoulder pulsating very powerfully, there is also pain/discomfort in this area.. I went to the hospital after this happened the second time and was given a chest xray and a EKG and the results were negative. I am planning on seeing my doctor and having a stress test done with a cardiologist. In the mean time, does anyone have any idea what is causing this?? Thanks.

I know that palpitations are generally not too serious, esp. if you know you're stressed out, but I recently had palpitations that started out severe, then gradually declined over 4 days. Now they're gone. Is this something to take to a cardiologist, or am I being a hypochondriac?

I figure it is. But the way it was done yesterday was rather upsetting now that i think about it more.

I went to the Nuclear heart Center yesterday because my General practioner sent me there because for the last two months I have had chest pain.

During the exam he was very fast with questions. Some were hard to answer. That seemed to upset him he was in a hurryHe was behind schedule I knew... He was listening to my heart from different angles and then asked me if I had a living will. I said no. He marked it down. Then said I want to do some test next week.

It did not dawn on me what he had asked till 8pm last night. So now I am wondering if I have more to fear. There testing for a blood clot, lung cancer, and doing a stress test proceeding a EKG.

My question is is it standard to ask about a Living will? And if so why has my general doctor not asked?

Thanx in advance confused and scared.

How many of you have heard of Ranexa? A company in California named CV Therapeutics makes it. The company trades at about $13.00 right now (ticker symbol: CVTX). The scuttlebutt is that it's going to jump to $20.00 or more after March 27th when a study is released on the safety and effectiveness of Ranexa.

My husband has had a pacer/defib for 2 years. It has to be removed and he will have a new one put in on the other side of his chest the next day. He was told that the removal was difficult and was referred to a different surgeon with more experience in removals. He was also told that LASER would be used in the surgery. I have assisted with putting pacers in but have never seen a removal so I do not know how much different the procedures are.

rushed to hospital found out she had a clot in neck causing her no blood flow thru the brain. She eventually had a heart attack they ended up putting stent in for blood flow. Now brain is enlarging and md said either removing part of brain and she might be able to speak very little. No surgery vegitarian state. Then if that procedure is done they still need to take care of her heart damage. Is there really any reason she should have this surgery What percentage does she have of a normal life at all ever? I was stricken with CHF & severe edema in Nov.06 - appr. 1 yr after a massive MI resulting from a car crash. My heart is only1/3 muscle tissue now & incompetent pumping force. But I have 50% Ejection fraction. Please tell me, if you succeeded with diuretics, fluid restriction, and did the water trapped within your tissues all over finally get reabsorbed back into your venous system. ???
did the water pressure & pain in your limbs or abdomen, finally moderate & go back to normal.??
I ask cause diuretics fail in my body. ALL of them.A bit ofcaffeine gives me some diuresis, but not Lasix or the Rx drugs. Cardiologists gave me no clear answers - they say to enter hospital, but they cannot say exactly WHAT they will do and when the water swelling in my body will disappear. They want an open-ended stay & I refuse. I am alone, uninsured, can't pay the fees & am terrified of hospitals. MY illness has no remedy, no cure. I want so much to know how you sufferers coped. Anyone succeed?
