That is well within "normal." As long as your MAP (mean arterial pressure) is greater than 60, you generally have adequate tissue perfusion. Even with 98/58, your MAP would be slightly over 71. Also, what is normal for you may not be for another person.

Low blood pressure is considered to be 100/70 or lower. Low blood pressure rarely causes problems but can in some cases be a signal of deteriorating health. Most short people have low blood pressure compared to tall people and sedentary obese people often have low blood pressue more often then lean people. Women also tend to have a lower BP then men. You want to make sure that you check your BP regularly, exercise, drink plenty of fluids especially water, avoid smoking, and any fried or fast foods. If you feel that you are dizzy, have weakness or fatigue then you would want to consult a doctor because your low BP could be causing a problem. Other then that just monitor it and you will be okay.

Actually, that is not bad pressure for being overweight. 120/80 is the standard by which normal blood pressure is evaluated. Get your cholesterol and triglyerides checked too.

Usually obesity is associated with hyper temsion. you have hypo tension, is this a new developement.? If so see a cardiologist to set your mind at ease regarding heart failure. If it has been this way a while maybe you have a thyroid problem contributing to both your weight and hypotension

Yes. That difference is normal. Many people have BP less than 100. As long as you feel good, it is OK.

Unless you are experiencing faintness, fatigue etc., this is apparently a normal pressure for you. Be glad that you don't have hypertension.
