I am aware that I can get type 2 diabetic testers, strips and lancets from my pharmacist but would like to know if there is an easier way, perhaps via the mail or local delivery.

A friend of mine mixes a little honey with water (just enough to make the water pale/translucent yellow) and drink it because he claims that it's healthy and good for the skin. Is that true? And could this cause diabetes? Honey is sugar, right?

Hi,

My step-father has type II diabetes. My mother often serves him potatoes with his dinner. White potatoes, like frozen french fries. Is this bad for a diabetic to be eating? Can this worsen their diabetes? I'm not an expert on diabetes & any info would be great.

Thanks

h

mostly after sugars or sometimes any foood i get nauseas, jittery, shakey or my heart races, someone told me i could b a borderline diabetic or have hypoglycemia, does this sound like diabetes or something else?

Hi, I am too embarassed to take a glucose pill in public (on the job, for example) but I have problems where my blood sugar drops low (not diabetes, just hypoglycemia). I am afraid someone will think I am "popping pills" or just plain crazy or sickly or something if they see me do this. I am afraid in the grocery store also that I should look ok all the time even if I feel icky. I am afraid they will throw me out of there if I look "sick."

But I know when I am getting woozy and I don't want it to get worse. Am I too paranoid about this or is it really better to avoid taking the sugar pill in public? Maybe they will think its candy if I put it in a non-medicine container? I don't want people to think badly of me.

I have been assigned a paper to write about anything health-related, and I have decided to write my paper on Type 1 diabetes. My three year old cousin was diagnosed with T1 last year, and I would like to know if there are any parents/grandparents/siblings of those with this type of diabetes. Please answer this question with serious intentions! Thank you!
