Can this feel like a panic attack or that you are really dizzy and high with your heart beating really fast? Last Night I think I almost had a heart attack after eating sweets, it was so scary and i was so weak all day, then I think it's my imagination and get a craving for sweets and it starts again..I can feel my vision blurring and my head hurting right now ...How can I stop this? I have been made to feel that this is all in my head but the symtoms happen every time and are getting worse....I don't want to go to the doctor and have my test come out okay, I'll feel like an idiot and then that will confirm it's all in my head, but if I don't do something i'm afraid i'll die.But i can't stand doctors and I am so stubborn.so what now? Also what was the scariest thing that ever happened to you when your sugar went too low or too high?

My specialist sayd that there is sometimes a "honeymoon" period with diabetes. He explained that when first diagnosed it is very managable and that I should find it easy to keep my sugar under control. But because it's type 1 I will most likely end up on insulin. I am finding it very easy to control my sugar, I have stuck to a strict diet and my sugar has stayed between 5 and 6 for the last week, without meds. I am wondering if anyone else has experienced this "honeymoon" period and if all type 1s end up on insulin?

I had about 10 chocolate covered cherries today and I know how naive I may sound but I'm seriously paranoid, I've been having a lot of sugar lately and there are many people in my family diagnosed with diabetes and I was just wondering by having a few sugar rushes does this put me at even more risk? I know it has to do with your genes and all but can this make me get it at an even younger age?

My wife and I can't agree on this issue. I am concerned because he eats mostly sugar & fat based food (cereal, white bread, cookies, candy, pasta, burgers, hot dogs, pizza etc). He hates protein and fiber based foods (chicken, beef, vegetables, fruits). I would say his ratio is 3 to 1 in favaor of the sugar and fat based.

OK, I don't mean should I kill for it ... but should I be allowed to have it? It's not like I'm drinking Dr. Pepper and eating Twizzlers.

When I have been at work for about 2 hours and working hard I will get drained, like I want to go to bed and just sleep.
I eat in the morning before I go to work so I feel fine, but about after I have been working and I get sick and feel so drain, then I will eat and in and hour I will be fine until about 1- 2 hours before I have to go home I will be the same way again. Now I have had lunch at noon. I will feel this way until I get home an have a soda.

Today when I ate a piece of candy that was very sweet, tears welled up in my eyes and that never happened before. I read online that when a person is diabetic, their body converts glucose into sorbitol (sugar) which cause an excess of water to accumulate into the eye. Now I'm scared I might have diabetes.
