It DOES require training, but it does NOT require an attunement or initiation. The exercises, done under a master, will induce the ability to channel energy.

A friend and I received Reiki 1 attunement. He felt nothing and I felt love. I was more open to it than he was. I felt great for two days then I came down again. I never kept it up but I know that it can work wonders. Just because you didn't feel anything doesn't mean that it had no effect, it can work on us in many ways. It's no accident that the cho-ku-rei symbol looks like the symbols before the lines of music notation.

Qi Gong requires instruction, like Reiki. It works similar to Reiki, although focuses more on the breath and hand movements in specific patterns. This is also similar to Pranic healing. Find the one that works best for you and get the right instruction.
