Long shot, but perhaps you should get checked for diabetes.

I have been told by a few diabetic friends that extreme thirst is a sign in some folk of diabetes.

Maybe also that your body just wants nutrients that get into the system quickly and vwith little digestive effort. Good thing to do is run some fruit or vegetables through the juicer and have the juice within 20 minutes of extraction. If you wait longer, the enzymes in it die, and your body will have to work harder to digest it, and will get less nutrients from it.

Bottled/canned juice requires alot of effort from the digestive system compared to fresh raw juice, and the carbs in canned/bottled juice have turned into bad sugar.

In the future, you should keep some Cold Eeze losonges (not any other brand) in your cabinet. If you even think you are coming down with a cold, take the losonges as directed. Do not have anything containing any vitamin C in it for an hour before you take a losonge or for an hour after you take a losonge. It will cut the time that you are ill with the cold IN HALF, and probably keep it from becoming as harsh as it would otherwise. But you must start taking them at the first of the cold, if you wait too long, they will do you no good.

Okay, well, if you're thirsty, it may be because you've taken decongestants to help fight your cold, and they've dried out your mucous membranes, which makes you thirsty. It could also be that you are dehydrated, and maybe you should try something other than water to quench your thirst - juice, hot tea, etc. That might work better than water by itself. If your urine is a clear, light yellow, not cloudy at all, and you still feel thirsty, then try chewing gum or sucking on a hard candy or lozenge to help keep your mouth moist.

It sounds like you might be a little dehydrated. If you're thirsty, drink WATER ... and plenty of it! Not soda or gatorade. Are you still running a fever? If you are, you might need to head to the doctor tonight ... otherwise, try to make an appointment in the morning ASAP!

When my little sister was diagnosed with diabetes she started off always craving water. She never wanted soda or juice, it was always water. After awhile she started throwing up like crazy too.
Eventually she passed out and we had to bring her to the hospital.
She always complained of a headache too.

If your only problem right now is that you're thirsty it's probably because you are dehydrated since it's winter now and the air dries up and such. If you notice that you start getting big headaches and you start to vomit then I would get checked up.

Also, are you like extremely skinny and pale? That's another sign.

Don't know your age, weight, life style, diet etc.,etc...If I were you I would see a Doctor, now, To check for Diabetes,!! It can cause a bunch of things, up death, loss of eyesight, and other stuff..It won 't kill you to see a Doctor...If you have a friend who has a test meter ( Gloucometer) it will give you an idea..Your numbers should be, ideally, in the low 100's..Regardless, you should suspect it, go to the Doctor..I had that similar symptom, thirst, and during a pre-op exam they found I had blood sugar of 325.. Who knew..I didn't have a clue that I was Diabetic..

Due to your cold you may still be dehydrated. Continue to replace fluids and eat 4-6 small meals throughout the day if you can tolerate it. See how you feel 3 days from now.

Since you had a cold your sinuses are dried out leading to a dry mouth. You may also be a slight bit dehydrated.Keep pushing the fluids, and resting, and if not better go to the doc.

You sound like you might be a little dehydrated. Or you ate something really salty. Also your sodium level may be up in your bloodstream and your body wants to water it down. If it keeps up you should see your doctor.

Children's Pedialyte works great. You sound as though you are dehydrated. Try it and if you still are thirsty you need to see your doctor.
