My brother (he's 13) was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) about a month ago and he's already started Chemo. His right knee is about three times the size of his other knee because of the tumor and it's pressing against a cluster of nerves. He'll have surgery Christmas week so we'll probably be spending Christmas in the hospital. He's in pain and he's scared, and he wants to cut off his leg. I don't blame him; if they only replace his knee, he'll never run again and the chance of recurrence is greater if he keeps his leg. He doesn't eat much because he doesn't feel good and he's crabby and demanding. I don't mind his attitude because he's got a right to act that way, I just don't like how I respond to it. I try to be patient, but so far I haven't done so well. I'm going to buy him an iPod so he doesn't get too bored in the hospital, but is there anything else I can do for him? I tell him I love him every day.

Not use products that CAUSE cancer? Uh, make sense to anyone?

Conventional soaps, lotions, cleaning products et al contain known carcinogens. People keep buying them without knowing the risks. And if you try to show people that scientists have proven that this petro-chemical garbage causes cancer, asthma, lung disease, liver disease, kidney failure, neurological disorders, diabetes, in addition to environmental filth, fouling up our own water supplies and air with toxins (even in their homes) and so on, you get looked at like you have 15 eyeballs and 3 heads.

No matter how many studies are available that show connections to conventional cleaning and body care products and various long-term and dibilitating illnesses. But we live in a free country. Cleaning and body care companies can put almost anything they want in their products and don't have to disclose any harm to the consumers, not even risks to their health.

Could the 'cure' be to not use carcinogens to clean and bathe?

Is breast pain a sign of breast cancer? I only have pain in one breast on the side...I don't do breast checks because I am squimish...I just can't seem to touch myself there. I am 24 years old. It doesn't run in my family. I am overweight, and I have never smoked.

My mother is almost 83 years old. She had a tumor on her left thumb, had it removed and had a skin graft. It has been almost 5 weeks now and the doctor spoke of attaching her thumb to her belly for it to heal. she does not want that done. Should we get a second opinion if the doctor insistes of doing the attachment.

My mother in law is in hospice care, but she is still up and about, not totally bed ridden, mind is still keen. How come her doctor put her under this care if she has no cancer or terminally ill disease. All she has is stage 4 copd. That's it.

Testicular Cancer?
Im not sure if this is normal or not? Im going to see a doctor on weds, but i just wondered if any of you could advise?
In Jan/Feb time I noticed an slight uncomfortable feeling in my right testicle also noticing it was slightly larger than the other one. Thats as much as I can remember really and I just got on with life. Now im getting worried about it again. It's not hugely swollen but it still feels bigger, and slightly heavy especially when i get an erection. There is little or no pain usually. Only sometimes when i feel around at the bottom. But the thing is...there is no lump!?!? Cant feel a lump at all and have never been able to. As I say im seeing the doctor next week, but any support and advice would be really nice.
Thanks
