Because he don't exist. If he did thousands of babies would not die each year of starvation, thousands of people wold not die each each of cancer, there would be no un-necessary pain and suffering. He is suppose to be our father, my father would never allow me to suffer like that.

Hi,
Why is it people say they don't believe in God that there is no such person or being that they cannot possibly exist, people get asked throughout their educational life "do you believe in evolution or religion" because one counteracts the other, but basically and coming to the point why is it when anything goes wrong in a persons life do they blame God for it, or something goes wrong the first thing they may say is "oh God" well why say it if there isn't one? why cant they look at the life and times we live in and see that it is probably our own doing from the start and nothing to do with "God".

That is a good and very common question. I wish people wouldn't blame God for everything. As said above, He allows things to happen. It's just the question of WHY that is hard. The answer? I don't know. God's ways are not our ways. Maybe He's trying to bring people closer to Him, or He wants to teach trust and faith. Maybe He wants to perform a very special miracle. Who can know? The reason I keep believing in Him is because without Him, life is hopeless. I can't imagine going through life with nothing to look forward to once I die, knowing that once I fall asleep for the last time, that's it. Also, I've seen Him work too many times in my life to stop believing Him now.

the way i look at it is...life is life. no one gets an easy ride. even people who seem to have it all, if you ask them they also have very real troubles. when i was diagnosed i had to think of things i thought i wouldn't have to deal with for many years, i was 36 when i was diagnosed. my god did not give me this cancer to punish or torture me, i really believe that all people have their strengths and weaknesses. my god is letting me know just how strong i can be. before i got sick i could think of all kinds of things to do but, i just never really found the time, now that my time is limited, things that used to seem important are not and things i thought i had plenty of time to get done, now i concentrate on. i never take anything for granted anymore. everything and everyone i know and love are at the fore front of my life. for so many years before i got sick my priorities were all screwed up, now i hope that i truly realize what is important and what is not. this has put my life into perspective. my god wants me to know that with him all things are possible. i am a strong person and i can do anything i want in this life. this is not a punishment but, a proof of my strength and determination.

I believe it is OK to wish such a disagreeable and difficult to handle disease would not exist, or that everyone with it would be healed...It must be frustrating...but it does not mean the world has no explanation to be as it is. Only that nobody knows what it is.

You know, this is a questions asked day after day by all of us who have cancer or take care of someone with cancer.
I wish I could answer this for you and for myself. There are times I get angry and ask God how come it seems that it is all the "good" people who suffer from this damn disease when there are so many lousy people who don't deserve to live. Not the way to think because it does not serve us well.
My Mom, who died 2 years ago, said it does us no good to question the why's of how life works for it doesn't change things. She was not an overly religious woman, but did believe a lot in how fate plots our lives.
As discouraged as I sometimes get with God I know I have to hold on to the belief that the prayers sent to him concerning my husband are helping. Whether or not there is a God, the positive thoughts and prayers have done alot to keep him alive and keep me from totally falling apart. So for me, at least, I have to keep my belief that he exists and is doing what he can to make this as easy as possible. Without that hope and thought I'd be a total basket case and I know that my husband would have no will to try to live.
My prayers go to God, but also our spirit guides and guardian angels, to specific people from both of our lives who have passed who I feel are watching over us. They might not be able to cure us, but all I know is without the great doctors we have had, the strong faith and hopefully help from those above, and his own will to live, he survived three months at the hospital when no one thought he'd ever come home.
I HAVE to believe. Try not to give up. God or not, YOU have to believe there is help so you and those around you don't give up.
I send you hope, prayers and positive thoughts. If this can help you or those around you, my time spent with this explanation is worth it. I wish I could do more - for you, for my husband, and for myself.

solid query without undemanding answer. you are able to pray for what you like, yet you apart from mght could desire to be arranged to your needs to no longer in fantastic condition into God's plan. despite if the prayers are no longer replied as you're able to wish, God needs to hearken to from you. while you pray for healing, you are able to pray for peace. soreness, ailment, and demise are terrible results of sin, and we've been under no circumstances truly meant to understand them. fortuitously God can use our maximum complicated and painful circumstances for His applications even whilst we won't be able to probably see or understand how there is powerful in a project.

Where do you draw the line for help?
You cant eat that because it is bad for you, you cant smoke, you cant experience life because that is bad for you.
Man forfeited the all encompassing cover from god when he was thrown out of the garden of Eden. Heaven has had its own problems, Beelzebub used to be one of the good guys.
Faith is what makes the difference to the journey of life,
A believer and non believer have the same journey through life, the same illnesses, the same highs the difference is that the believer knows when he has lived a just life and helped those around him then he will be welcomed into heaven by St Peter.
The non believer is just going to die.

As far as I'm concerned it's as simple as this:
Either god is a callous and cruel observer of people's suffering, who has the power to alleviate that suffering but cruelly chooses not to
OR
he doesn't exist.
You can't have it both ways. I know where my money is.
Edit** Blah 1, you're saying everybody that dies from cancer is evil?
