Not use products that CAUSE cancer? Uh, make sense to anyone?

Conventional soaps, lotions, cleaning products et al contain known carcinogens. People keep buying them without knowing the risks. And if you try to show people that scientists have proven that this petro-chemical garbage causes cancer, asthma, lung disease, liver disease, kidney failure, neurological disorders, diabetes, in addition to environmental filth, fouling up our own water supplies and air with toxins (even in their homes) and so on, you get looked at like you have 15 eyeballs and 3 heads.

No matter how many studies are available that show connections to conventional cleaning and body care products and various long-term and dibilitating illnesses. But we live in a free country. Cleaning and body care companies can put almost anything they want in their products and don't have to disclose any harm to the consumers, not even risks to their health.

Could the 'cure' be to not use carcinogens to clean and bathe?

I use natural products that I make myself that don't contain petro-chemicals that cause long-term illness.

You can't buy Sunflower Naturals, hon. You have to make the stuff yourself... probably too complicated for you. However, I'm flattered that you clicked my picture.

How about things like benzoyl peroxide. Scientists use it to promote skin cancer in lab animals to study skin cancer treatments for humans.

You don't need a nick or cut to absorbed the toxins from environmental pollution on your skin (either ambient or slathered on). Your skin absorbs a bit of everything - uh, concept of dermal patch medication...

In the last 20-30 years, most forms of cancer have doubled and some have even tripled. I realize that there has always been cancer, but with all the research we've paid for, the cancer rates are getting way higher. Maybe scientific studies are right, these things are cancer-causing?

I'm different from most of the responses on this board who ASSUME that I haven't been touched by cancer. But, rather than sit around and feel sorry for myself, I try to educate people them know that sticking a bleach stick in themselves every month increases risks of cervical cancer. Rubbing on phthalates, increases cancer risks in the next generation. Things like benzoyl peroxide that are used to PROMOTE skin cancer in lab animals is rubbed on millions of children's faces EVERY DAY, THREE OR FOUR TIMES A DAY. You guys go ahead and throw your little pity parties on the board. Poor me, poor me. I'm not sitting here wallowing in self-pity. I'm trying to show people that the stuff they use every day increases their risk of suffering, the risks of their children suffering and the hell that goes along with cancer. You may be sick of hearing about cancer 'cures'. I'm sick of hearing people who made bad choices whine about the consequences of those choices.

As for the increase rate just being because more people live longer. That's not right. The RATE is the percentage of the population that develops NEW cancers. The rates are doubling, and tripling. And the known increases in risks are sill on our shelves in our stores.

As for this intention being marketing? You are so funny, and so wrong. I never ask anyone to purchase anything from me. I supply the reasons for change to the ignorant and uneducated. The publications are there, but ONLY if that person chooses the path. I hope that people choose not to use conventional, carcinogenic petro-crap with known risks. But people can choose whatever path to end those increased risks they want. Truthfully, I get emails every day asking for advice. I haven't sold even one of the online publications - but I have GIVEN away hundreds to protect people from the increased risks. Unlike those who sit and whine, I know I've improved lives and reduced the risks of suffering for others. Soooooooooo.

Thats what I'm talking about...
I don't use anything thats bad for me, that includes products that have parabens and other b.s.
After all, your skin absorbs what you put on it... how can people not see that its bad?
Also, eating non-organic food is bad... and it is proven that all the things they put in cows causes cancer for meat eaters.

No, if breast melanoma was once cured, now not all cancers could be cured. There are many distinct varieties of melanoma and they don't seem to be the entire equal. That is why the equal healing isn't given for each and every. That's why there are lots of chemotherapy medicinal drugs, on account that no chemotherapy drug is strong towards a wide variety of melanoma. Some cancers don't seem to be touchy to chemotherapy or radiation treatment. This could also be why plenty of development has been made in treating a few cancers (adolescence acute lymphocytic leukemia, prostate melanoma, testicular melanoma only for instance) and there was little development with others (i.e., pancreatic melanoma, the mind tumors glioblastoma multiforme and DIPG). Researchers are running on precise treatments - designed notably to right what goes unsuitable with the cells in designated varieties of cancers. Some precise treatments are already in use.

First, realize, people have been dying of cancer for centuries with or without soaps, lotions, and cleaning products.
Will stop using them help prevent cancer? Maybe, maybe not. Time will tell. Will it stop death, no. So If you want to stay healthy as long as you can, then do what's right for you. The ocean is organic, but would it be cleaner to bath there than your shower which wastes gallons of water? What I'm trying to say, is it doesn't matter what you die of. It's how you have lived. Stop worrying about the little insignificant things. How the world works, how it will survive. It will, just like it always has, even without you, just like it did before your were here.

Life is full of chemicals. Did you know that E-Coli lives in your stomach naturally?

The best way to stay healthy is to wash your hands and face throughout the day.

Cancer has always existed. You can find fossilized remains of humans with osteosarcoma. The first documented cases of breast cancer occured in Egyptian mummies. So, cancer is not new, nor has it doubled . . what has happened is that more people are surviving cancer than they ever did in the past.

The History of Cancer

You can avoid every single carcinogenic known to man, live a healthy lifestyle, never smoke, drink, overeat, who exercise, eat only vegetables, and still get cancer. I know people who have done everything right and are literally shocked when they have gotten cancer.

There is a great tendency for people who do not have cancer to believe that 'things' cause cancer and that cancer can be prevented. It cannot. You may be able to reduce your risk, but you cannot prevent it from happening. Look at children and young adults . . most of them are healthy when diagnosed with cancer. If you know about cancer you would realize that the types of cancer children and young adults get is NOT the same as the type that adults get. For instance . . did you know that young people get cancers that are associated with the primitive cells of childhood (embryonic cells). Did you know that typically young peoples cancers are associated with puberty and growth spurts? Did you know that some cancers affect males more than females (why do bone cancers like Ewings and Osteosarcoma and soft tissue sarcomas almost predominately strike boys?) The answer is far more complicated than just an environmental cause. There are internal clocks working too.

If what you said had any turth to it . . than wouldn't ALL of us get cancer. Why do some people get cancer while the overwhelming majority who use these products do not. If soaps, lotions, cleaning products, petro, water supply and air with toxins caused cancer . . than why don't we all have cancer. Why do only some people get it. Why do non-smokers still get lung cancer. Why do many life long smokers never get any type of cancer at all.

Until you can answer why the majority of people on this planet who are exposed to all the environmental carcinogens . . never get cancer at all . . than your reasoning is flawed.

Internet postings and other sources have suggested that people who use deodorants or antiperspirants could be at higher risk for breast cancer. These stories have claimed that the products contain harmful substances that can be absorbed through the skin via nicks and cuts from shaving. However, neither the National Cancer Institute nor the FDA have found any link between the use of underarm antiperspirants or deodorants and the subsequent development of breast cancer.

More than half of Americans drink water that contains fluoride. A connection between fluoride in drinking water and cancer has been debated and studied for many years. A recent report by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention summarized extensive research findings and concluded that studies to date have produced "no credible evidence" of an association between fluoridated drinking water and an increased risk for cancer.

These are just some of the myths I fear you're getting your information from. The FDA does a pretty good job of investigating products that may cause cancer. A majority of the products you buy won't cause cancer. The other minority of products typically already state it or it is now become common knowledge that they cause cancer. I.E. Tobacco products.

I'm with you there Andee. Misinformation and pet theories from people who have neither studied nor had cancer abound on this forum.

A major reason there is more cancer diagnosed than ever before is that people are living much longer thanks to better health care, and the risk for many cancers increases with age. In addition some cancers have screening programmes, so many cases of cancer that would previously have gone undetected are recorded.

Neminly, the finest scientific minds are baffled as to what causes cancer., but you think you know. You don't provide any links to back up your theory

People who make every effort to use natural products get cancer. People who eat organic get cancer. Vegans get cancer.

I got cancer. You may yet get cancer.

Nobody knows what causes cancer, but having a body and plain bad luck are major factors.

It would not be the cure, as we essentially all die from some type of cancer or another. But I'm sure it would lower the number of new patients and save many lives.

I love it when production companies throw a dozen toxic materials together and name it as one thing, to make it look less harmful. Like McDonald's for example. They throw all kinds of crap together and call it a BigMac, Quarter-pounder, Chicken-nuggets, etc. LOL.

Hi Neminly

I agree with you on the products we use. No doubt that is part of it.

To summarize my thoughts quickly.

I would say those toxins in products are in the food we eat as well, especially if one doesnt eat organic. Even organic has some toxins, but not as much as conventional food. The key is detox the blood of these toxins every quarter (or more if needed). By doing colon, liver, and kidney cleanses will keep the organs working properly because they do all the work by eliminating toxins in the body.

yes, one of the advantages of living in the stone age...How can a company be held accountable for causing someone's cancer if it takes years to develop...as long as the transaction was made, their business is done.
