can someone tell me why I get drowsy fast when I read, even after 10 minutes I feel sleepy and tired, and how can I treat this problem ?

I've had moderate allergies for years -- just sneezing and an itchy/runny nose (no congestion or more serious symptoms). I take Benadryl at night because it helps the symptoms and helps me sleep, but I'm looking for something effective that I can take during the day.

I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and was thinking of requesting a prescription, but I wanted to see what has worked well (and with the fewest side effects) for others. I was thinking about trying Astelin because it's advertised as being good for environmental irritants (and I know I'm allergic to some perfumes) but I've also heard it can have some pretty serious side effects.

Suggestions from personal experience please. Thanks!

I am a teenager suffering from severe allergies. I have always been allergic to pollen, especially in the spring to early summer. Since May, I have had constant allergies. I initially assumed that the allergies were a result of the high pollen count in my area. But even as the pollen count decreased, my allergies still persisted, with worse symptoms then I have ever experienced. Now the pollen count is very low, leading me to believe my allergies were a reaction to something else. I have had cats all my life and never had a problem. But, now I have four cats sleeping in my bed with me since the middle of May (when the bed they used to sleep on was removed). My allergy reactions start sometime between 2 AM and 4 AM and then when I fall back asleep, I face them when I wake up again. Runny nose, watery/itchy eyes. I do not really face the symptoms when I am outside my house, besides occasional itchy/watery eyes. I am a teenager, could I have developed an allergy to my cats?

When I was 18 I suddenly developed an allergy to raw fruit - the doctor I went to at the time was completely uninterested and just told me not to eat any of the things I'm allergic too. I'm now 25 and totally sick of not being able to eat fruit! Has anyone else had an allergy like this come on suddenly, and is it possible for an allergy to disappear again after some time? If anything I am getting a worse reaction each time I try to eat fruit.

I've had the flu for almost a week already. I have taken madicines over the counter and went to see the doctor already. He prescribed me medicine but it doesn't work. Help!!! Is there any home remedies or any good medicine over the counter that I probably haven't taken.

I'm asking this because I recently had an allergic reaction to something I ate. And I haven't eaten anything new recently. I'm thinking it was either an omelet, a salad, or soy milk.

I have a delayed food allergy, very hard to pin down what things, I know everyone is different, but a list of say "this food or pesticide has often caused this symptom" would be really helpfull.
Mine are lip itching, severe headache and hot localized welt/hive/bumps only on my face....if this sounds simular, I would like to know.

So I have been eating some variety of food. The usual stuff is pizza (normal, cheese), chicken fingers (w/ honey mustard), bagels (with butter), cauliflower/carrots and ranch dip and coffee. Some times i add or take other things.

I usually have that almost everyday.

And I have been having a really hard time with gas, like I can feel my stomach grumble so hard it vibrates. Then a few hours later. I have diarrhea. Not to be nasty.... but it’s like a green-ish color. And then I have this diarrhea several times. And then I get really hungry.

I believe I am allergic to something, can you help me figure out what it might be.

I KNOW YOU AREN'T A MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL!

I just want you to talk from your own experiences.

If you have any questions or comments please send me a message......THANK YOU! ♥

The carpet is in great condition -- practically new. I hired a pro carpet cleaner who did a deep clean and "sealed" the carpet with Scotch Guard, but I'm still having major allergy problems. I can't even be in the condo longer than an hour or so. Anyone know if there is a solution short of replacing the carpet? I've heard that I might need to paint, too, to rid the condo of cat dander that may be on the walls. Anyone know anything about that? Thanks much.

Over the counter stuff isn't really cutting it. Has anyone ever heard of using Depo Medrol in a 12 year old? I know it's too late to get allergy shots, and he is very allergic to trees and grass. I work in the medical field, but have never heard of them using it in kids. Anyone? He really needs some help, other than relying on all the astma meds all the time!

Hi there,
I am really sure my 17 month old baby has hayfever. Whenever I take her out, her nose streams, eyes are watery, sneezing and coughing and when we get home her eyes look all swollen which is exactly what I get when I have hayfever. Can I give her anything?

Right now I take a combination of Claritin and Chlorpheniramine (like chlor-trimetron) but it doesn't work on the really bad days.
