Try this, it works wonders for many people I know. Check this out with serious consideration. This will usually at least help if it doesn't take care of your condition(s) all together like it did for me!
Have you tried a Chiropractor for help? You can have undetected nerve compression, it can cause almost any kind health problems from immune disorders to asthma to depression to acid reflex to even organ failure. Try having your spine examined by a good chiropractor that believes in the power of our central nervous system. Your brain controls every cell and part of your body threw nerve transmissions and if nerves are compressed your body will start to malfunction due to the lack of nerve impulses. Your central nervous system as well as the American diet has a lot to do with the conditions that people suffer from. Most doctors don't even understand our central nervous system therefore they don't know how to properly address conditions with out medications (with a 101 possible side effects) when nerve compression could be the root cause. For eight years I was suicidally hopeless with three young kids, no doctors out of many had a clue as to what was wrong with me and suggested that I was mental because of the many health problems afflicting me. I know the power our central nervous system because I was set free from chronic nerve pain (stinging, stabbing, burning, itching from my eyeballs to my rib cage to my head to toes, literally!) that was all over my body as well as many other health problems after my spine was treated from a good Chiropractor (his goal was to straighten my spine) without medications. Stretching my spine on an inversion table helped the most for me ( Three times a day for about a month I forced my spine to stretch. My spine pop loudly several different times and three weeks later most of my crazy symptoms started going away while nothing else help!). Oil base B-vitamins also helped a lot, there good for nerve transmissions. A lot of problems are also do to vitamin and mineral deficiency problems that doctors are unaware of. Acupuncture believe it or not works wonders for a lot of people too. Just remember it takes time and consistency when going the natural way but has far greater rewards than other methods so don't give up or get discouraged, just be consistent! You will never know what may help if you don't approach your situation with an optimistic open mind and be willing try new things like natural alternatives which has given me my life back when doctors were careless and clueless. Don't ever give up hope, pray for God's guidance and he will help you find the answers as he did for me(when nobody else could), sometimes you have to find your own cure, it's out there just keep searching! Although it might be your spine. I wish I had enough room to tell you my whole personal story! God bless.

I have SEVERE allergies-use a daily like your claritin, a nasal steroid spray can really help, try old antihistamines-travist (not travist-d) it works Good!!but you will be sleepy- also otc pepcid has histamine blocking properties- it blocks h2 receptors while alot of antihistamines are h1 only. Also like zicam otc nasal spray. I developed allergies to industrial cleaners and had three months of the worst allergies from nose like a running sink to all congested and was trying everything-10 or more a day-found the cause but still have horrible allergies and this is how I manage. Tavist can be hard to find cause its kinda old-school for anti-histamines and is not freq. used- not cause its not good just not the newest -your bodies not used to it(why I think it works better). Hope you feel better.

That depends on the person. Modern medicine wants you to believe that there should be one pill for one problem... its not that simple! Everyone is different, as everyones allergies react different as well!
I tried prescribed meds for allergies... and the side effects were so bad, I had to stop. So then I went back to the over the counter meds, and tried a wider variety. I found a few decogestants that worked, and didnt make me feel on edge or fogged out! But, at night I couldnt take them, cause I wouldnt fall asleep!
So- I only use the decongestants during the day... but I use benadryl at night, and I sleep like a baby! But- the benadryl I use, doesnt have a decongestant in it either!
Anyway- you need to try them out, and decide on your own. Just make sur eto take the recommended amounts, and never exceed them!

Well I had a food allergy and my the right side of my top lip swelled up. I still have the swelling as it happened today and yesterday but I take Piriton. You can get it in tablet and medicine form. It helped a bit and made the swelling go down but like half an hour before I was due to take it again, my lip had swelled up again. Adults take 10ml of the medicine every 4 - 6 hours. I would recommend it but you say you have really bad days, so you can see if it works but...

there really aren't many meds that can be taken before allergy testing. The allergy testing involves checking for histamines, most of the meds that are OTC are antihistamines, so this would totally invalidate your results.. good luck

My doc put me on Zyrtec. It is expensive, but I would highly reccommend that you at least try it. I did use Claritin but that started to not even work after so long, so I switched and I would never think about going back.

For me what works the best of all is a steroidal nasal spray. I recommend Beconase AQ or Nasonex.
