I've had the flu for almost a week already. I have taken madicines over the counter and went to see the doctor already. He prescribed me medicine but it doesn't work. Help!!! Is there any home remedies or any good medicine over the counter that I probably haven't taken.

what they said. And don't stop taking the meds the doc prescribed. If you have an infection they need time to do their thang. Drink, Drink, Drink

Keep your body hydrated. Drink clear fluids water, broth, tea(no milk or cream, no coffee if you can help it). Make sure to wash or sanitize your hands after sneezing or coughing. If you need to sneeze or cough to it into a tissue or hanky. If you can help it don't expose yourself to the elements. Try Thera-Flu or Tylenol cold and flu catered to the symptoms you have. Hope you feel better. You can also look up home remedies for the flu in yahoo search for more ideas.

You might have had a viral infection which has be become bacterial infection now. Did the doctor prescribe you antibiotics and did you take the drug properly at the times he asked you to?
You can try steam inhalation, which will get rid of the excess mucus.

you may want to try Zicam nasal swabs, the zinc in the preparation is absorbed directly into the blood stream thru the nasal mucosa so it is the best way to use it. Zinc shortens the duration of most viral illnesses because it blocks the replication of viral RNA.
