When I was a little kid I was allergic to tomatoes, chocolate, and strawberries. I outgrew them when I got older, but now I think my ketchup allergy is coming back. I always eat ketchup, and pizza, and pasta, and a few weeks ago I was breaking out on my face. But I have been eating it still and I haven't been breaking out...so what's going on??

I have heard recently about how Bounce dryer sheets have a ton of alternative uses including repelling ants, mosquitos, mice, and the like. I am very allergic to insects so this would be great to use, but I am also semi-allergic to the scented version of the Bounce.

So, I am wondering if the Unscented Bounce dryer sheets work like the original ones. And if they do work in repelling insects, are they as effective as the regular version of Bounce or do you notice that they don't work as well? If there is another scent that you have used that works like the original and it's not the unscented, I'd be interested in knowing that too.

All responses are appreciated.

lately i've been noticing that i get sick to my stomach after eating dairy products. i've heard that you can only be born with lactose intolerance, and i want to know if you can develop it.

I had filled my Allegra prescription at a Walgreens in my college's hometown, and when I picked it up, the pill looked different than normal. I called my mom and described it and she said it should be ok. I took the pill for a few days, but it wasn't easing my allergies at all. Yesterday, I refilled my prescription at a CVS in my hometown, and it looked the same as it always did. Is there a phone number I can call to see if it was in fact Allegra, or should I just call my allergist?

It sounds odd that someone would be allergic to fruits, but whenever I eat watermelons, my throat starts to get really itchy and uncomfortable.

Hello, could anyone please, PLEASE recommend anything to tackle hayfever? I've taken allergy tablets but they make me drowsy, and don't even work. I've been told by a lot of family and friends that my nose is swelling up because of it and it's causing me to sneeze excessively with nose bleeds.

They are itchy, watery, and swollen. When I look in the mirror, I look like a creature of the night. I tried everything from cold water/compresses, an ointment, eyedrops, and more. What can I do?

I have been dealing with an awful morning cough for about a month now and each morning spend about 30 minutes to an hour coughing up gross....congeiled yellow gunk....I am getting tired of this awful ritual! After I have cleared my chest, I don't have any more problems until the next morning. I have had asthma and allergy problems for years now so I wouldn't think it would be those affecting me? Even in the awful allergy time months ago I didn't experience this problem. I don't smoke and am not around anyone that smokes...my son has severe allergy problems and our house is about as allergen free as we can make it- special mattress and pillow covers, removing all carpet, little to no open clutter for dust to accumulate on- even going as far as installing special filters and ultraviolet light that are directly linked into our AC ducts....any ideas? Thanks!

My 7.5 year old son is allergic to cow's milk. (Allergic - not lactose intolerant) He just had his annual RAST test last week. We got the results today - 0.99 'low moderate'. ;-( Another year of reading labels, saying 'no thank you' to unlabelled treats, teaching him to deal with it all graciously.

Anyway, I'm wondering at what age we should give up hope of 'outgrowing' the allergy. What's the oldest you've ever heard of someone outgrowing a milk allergy?

I get hives, itchy skin and my skin turns beat red all over and I bloat. It has happened 3 times just recently within the past 4 months from something I ate. Last time it happened I had a banana nut wheat Odwalla bar and got a reaction. The time before that, I ate some sort of an appetizer that comes frozen with imitation crab in it and got a reaction. Does anyone know what my allergy could be to? Maybe someone with medical experience?

I've been having some allergic reactions lately (my allergist hasn't been able to identify the cause). Currently, my lips and eyelids are swollen. It feels like my throat is swelling, or very very sore, but I can still breathe. It feels like there is a slight pressure in my chest, but again, nothing severe. I took 50 mg of Zyrtec a few hours ago, to little effect. It's been like this for at least two hours.

Is this an anaphylactic reaction? Is the throat swelling likely to get worse, or after two hours am I pretty much safe from having my throat close up?

Basically, if nothing extremely severe has happened within an hour or so, can it be ruled out as an anaphylactic reaction or should I still go to a hospital or something?

I was just diagnosed with food allergies to dairy, soy, and tree nuts. As of right now if I eat them I get extremely sick (vomiting, bathroom trips, not pretty). Is it possible if I keep eating these foods that it will grow into the typical rash-hives-itchy allergies?
