do you try sleeping on the opposite side you normally sleep on so that your sinus can drain from one side to another?

Have you asked your doctor to prescribe an antihistamine spray? There are sprays, like Afrin or Rhinocort, which help with this. Also, are you taking an antihistamine tablet for your allergies? Allegra is excellent, but only available with a prescription.
You should see your doctor and ask to be referred to an allergist. There could be injections which would help desensitize you to your allergens. You also might benefit from seeing an ENT, ear nose and throat doctor.
Without a doctor's prescription, the best alternative is to wash out your nose with salt water. Tap water is okay, but distilled water is better. You need to buy some kosher salt. Table salt has additives in it to keep it from clumping up when it's humid. Put a cup of warm water in a jar with a tight lid, add a tablespoon of kosher salt and stir it or shake it until the salt is dissolved. Use a nose dropper to spray it up your nose. It will clear out your sinuses.
You can also buy saline nose drops for $3 or less at WalMart or a drug store. The only disadvantage of buying it ready made is you can't control the amount of salt. The saltier it is, the better it helps reduce swelling in your nose. The salt will draw out the fluid in the tissues, shrinking it and making it easier to breathe.

First, NEVER ever snort vicks vapor rub or any sort of product with petroleum jelly in it. It can get into your lungs and cause what is called Lipoid Pneumonia and lead to irreversible scarring of your lungs.
Second, try sinus rinuses. http://www.neilmed.com/ You can get a easy to use rinsing bottle at Walgreens.
Third, consider seeing an ENT for more information on what different treatment options you have. Ie nasal sprays or even surgery.
Hope this helps.

peppermint oil, hot steamy shower or bath. Menthol Bath salts also can help. I am in massage therapy school and when our clients get a stuffy nose during a massage on the table, we use peppermint oil to help open the nasal.

this is a common issue among allergy sufferers. Ask your doctor for a nasal treatment, like flonase or nasonex.

Try saline spray. The brand name is 'Ocean Nose' but it comes in generic too. Also get a humidifier.

Sniff vicks vapor rub in through your nose and breath it out through your mouth. For constant relief, dab a little under your nose.
