A 6 day delay. I would say most likely not, but see the doc just in case. I am allergic to most breeds of cats and when I am in a house with one, my eyes water and I sneeze alot - in just an hour or two. My gut tells me that if you were allergic it wouldn't have taken 6 days to fully show itself. Plus allergies are slightly different than colds IMHO. The doc can do an allergy test and you'll have your definitive answer.

It should just be a cold unless you have more than a cough. Allergy symptoms are sneezing, stuffy nose, runny nose, itchy eyes, throut could hurt from post nasal drip. If you dont have problems while away from cat its allergy. like my eyes only itch if i touch them after petting a cat. have you been around cats before and noticed anything. Allergies can begin at any age i guess, I didn't find problems till i was 16. Take some over the counter medicine for colds if you think its a cold then take overhte counter allergy medicine if you think not, i will warn i've had trouble getting allergy medicine to always work, my cat allergies have worsen in time. you can keep the cat if allergic but you ,must clean momre often to avoid allergen. Wash hands after touching, sweep 1-2 times a week, keep pets out of the bedroom a must. allerpet: I will try in a week, i'm going to try to live with my kitten I found, had someone watching her, got her back.

you could be allergic. if your symptoms last longer than the average chest cold as long as you have the kitten its probably the kitten. i love cats!

It's a possibility you can be allergic to the kitten. Have you experience any sneezing also?

I would go to the dr and check with him....Better to be safe than sorry. He/She can refer you to an allergist if they think it could be an allergic reaction.
