I love avacados. I always have. I am not alergic to anything we know of except maybe penicline. But whenever I eat avacados my throat itches. I dont get sick or anything and it happened to a few friends of mine. I asked my mom and she said it never happened to me before but it had. She thought it was the avacado itself that I ate. But it dont matter when I eat them it happens. What does this mean?

Is it possible to be so severely allergic to cats that you get bronchitis after being exposed. I threw a bridal shower for my sister a few weeks ago, and one of the bridesmaids claims she is so allergic to cats that she ended up with bronchitis a week or two after the shower b/c "the cats weakened her immune system". She was not around the cats, they were locked in the basement and all the dander was thoroughly vacuumed up. Is it possible to get this sick, or is she just being rude by blaming me?

ever since i was a little kid, i've been really bad with allergies around this time of the year, pollen, grass, the trees, etc. etc. but this year they are the worst. i have been suffering about 2 weeks now with allergies, in my house, with the AC on. i have been taking allergra, but it doesn't seem to be working, and they are the worst when i first wake up in the morning, laying in bed. i wash/change my bed sheets about every week & have been trying to keep the dog out of the bed, but she still sneaks in there sometimes, i've never been allergic to her before, i just had a baby two months ago. could my pregnancy have changed what i'm allergic to? i am suffering. what are some GREAT medications for itchy eyes, itchy throat, stuffed nose, runny nose? i can't take this any longer!

I am always congested, due to allergies. I also snore, extremely loud, which is caused by my congestion (I think). A couple of people suggest simply taking Claritin-D, which does help better than anything else I've taken. But is it safe to take everyday for many years? I don't like the idea of taking medication for an extended period of time, but I'm told it is safe. Second opinion?

I've been taking fexofenadine for the past couple months for my allergies. Within the past two weeks I have become depressed. I looked it up online it says that depression is a side effect. Have any of you heard of anything?

First of all, I'm not allergic to the sun.
I used to joke that I'm a vampire, but I found humidity is the catalyst not the sun.
In wintertime I have no problems.

During the summer, when I am outside for any period of time, my skin becomes very itchy.
Usually this involves my face, ears, neck and arms. Basically anything exposed.
My skin doesn't change its appearance (it doesn't break-out or blister, etc). It only turns red when I start scratching it (and the itch is really overwhelming).
Also, I don't go tanning. Though I always use sun-block if the need arises. Sun-block doesn't help with relieving the amount of itchiness.

So what can I do to to stop my allergic reaction?
It really makes summer no fun for me.

I am 20 and I've only had a few allergies before, but all of the sudden I am having alot more allergies. It's not just one type either! It's my eyes, skin and sinuses. I also have developed some reations to food but I think they are intolerences, not allergies. I didn't use to be allergic to my dog, but now I break out in hives when I am around her! A few weeks ago my eyes started tearing up or getting puffy without apparent reason. Just a few days ago my skin started to feel uncomfortable (not quite itchy, just uncomfortable).
What could be causing this? Are the interrelated or is it just chance? What can I do for this (especially the skin problem)?

I have raw food allergy syndrome. Does anyone else out there have this? If so which foods are you allergic to. I basically can't eat anything raw except berries and citrus. I have a lot of allergies and it wasn't until I was 24 that I was told I CAN eat most fruits and veggies as long as they are cooked. I was also told that I have legume allergies and to stay away from peanuts but as an adult they said I do not test allergic to legumes. I am too scared to try...I have never had peanut butter. Thanks for all your help.

I'm suffering from chronic sinus problems due to allergies. When I am in my home I get "stuffed up", a rash and dizzy. When I leave the house, the allergy symptoms clear up. We have had the house treated for mold, have air purifiers in every room and put the "allergy-free" sheets and pillow cases on every bed. I use unscented everything and went on a vegetarian diet. We purchased leather couches to reduce allergins. What could be causing these reactions. I don't want to move, but I can't live like this!

Recently I had a dish with chicken, shrimp, crawfish tails, white wine sauce and cheese. I started itching 2 hrs later and by the morning I had a rash all over. Now I've had this same meal many times and have never had this kind of reaction. Was this a one time thing or could I have developed an allergy to shellfish?

I had the facial yesterday at noon, and starting around 8 or 9 last night my face started itching. This morning my eyes are almost swollen shut. It doesn't add up (since it's 8 hrs later after my facial that I start seeing a reaction), I've had facials before, just not an organic one. Anyone have this happen to them?
