I'm suffering from chronic sinus problems due to allergies. When I am in my home I get "stuffed up", a rash and dizzy. When I leave the house, the allergy symptoms clear up. We have had the house treated for mold, have air purifiers in every room and put the "allergy-free" sheets and pillow cases on every bed. I use unscented everything and went on a vegetarian diet. We purchased leather couches to reduce allergins. What could be causing these reactions. I don't want to move, but I can't live like this!

It could be the carpet!
you might not notice but the carpet is filled with dirt and things that are pretty nasty.
i seen some professional people change the carpet.
under that "clean looking" carpet, there is a thick build up of dirt which is very dangerous for anyone.
you should replace the carpet with wood and then you will notice the change.
It can also happen if you have some sort of plant with flowers inside home, get rid of those also.
do you have a pet?? if so buy a pet brush and brush him/her every 3 days.
Make sure you keep your house clean, even a little tiny dust can damage you, specially if your sensitive. why don't you try to clean in places you haven't at least once and see if there is a change.

Mould is only one of the problems that it could be.

If it is a new home, it could any number of chemicals in the materials. The same if you've recently had some work done.

Have you recently changed your laundry detergent? Started using new dryer sheets? New pet?

Talk to your GP about a referral to an immunologist(?), and they may be able to narrow down for you. Incidentally, the switch to a vegetarian diet *could* have caused part of your suffering. Once your body adjusts to the "shock" of the new diet, if it did have something to do with it, some of the symptoms will disappear.

Do you still have carpeting on the floor? If you do, you may have to pull that up and put in laminate, tile or hardwood flooring.

Have you had allergy testing where they give you those scratch tests to figure out what exactly you are allergic too? That may be an option to find out exactly what you are allergic to. The test is not cheap, but worth it if it helps you decide what is causing your problem.

i don't think you could be allergic to your house maybe something inside animals, wood, cleaning solutions, maybe leather.have you ever taken an allergy test to see what it could be it is uncomfortable but well worth it you can pin point exactly what it is. but it could also be that you put it in your head that it is your house so mentally that what it is try to say i will not get stuffy today clean your house and wash your clothes and don't think of the symptoms. leave and come back. because let me tell you something funny dirt makes me itchy i can't stand to see things with dust because i Itch no joke i have to make it every day how can i not see dirt, feel dirt its every where how about dust i have to clean every day my plants my kids could you see the clean-es kids in the neighbor hood because of me but i had to learn that i put that in my mind and i was pushing it on my children and they were not being kids having fun just try very hard to deal with this because what if the next house the same thing happens? you will be moving always.

Even if there is no mold if there is any kind of moisture at all in your home or around it that could be causing problems may want to look into a air dehumidifier seriously. what kind of mold did you have? Did you have professionals treat the home? Mold is very dangerous!

Sounds like house-dust mites. Vacuum carpets and soft furnishings every day. Make sure the house is well ventilated and gets plenty of sunlight. I got this particular allergy from keeping my bedroom shaded all day with a wicker blind. I got rid of it by ventilating and letting light in.

yes. but it could be those couches. Sounds animal related. I get stuffed up and itchy from laundry detergent. I can't have scented anything around me and can only use tide.

I have hardwood floors and throws on all furniture that I wash regularly.

I hear allergy tests are rather easy. You should talk to your doctor and they can run the simple tests.

Is the house old? Perhaps you are allergic to some type of insulation in the house... Do you have any pets? Plants?

Do you feel the symptoms in any other place? Any other houses etc? If not, you know it´s specific to your house and something in there is making you sick.
