I was curious about a possible allergy to Anticoagulants. I tried to donate plasma at the local red cross, and during the process I got extremely cold and started shaking. They stopped the process. The supervisor who talked to me after said its possible allergy to Anticoagulants or lack of calcium possibly. At that time I had very little calcium in my diet, and now its much better. I would like to register as a bone marrow donor or do other donation methods besides whole blood. Is there a way to test if the allergy is what caused the reaction a few years ago, or if anyone has any other insight in the matter.

Thanks
Steve

I'm not around anyone who does at all anytime. I wash my hair and switched shampoos and it still smells like cigarette smoke.

Whenever I eat an apple, my throat (and kind of my ear canal...) gets itchy. It doesn't happen when the apples are cooked, though. The same thing happens (but not as much) with peaches and plums.

Is there some common item in these fruits that I'm allergic to?

My daughter's doctor suggested she switch to soy, because she can't handle milk protien. She is 13 months. It's not a lactose problem, so Lactaid won't help. I've heard different things about soy, both good and bad. Can someone tell me what the benefits and drawbacks of soy milk/soy products are?

It really doesn't matter what I eat. I always have these hives on my tongue. They get worse when I eat certain things like. If I eat at fast food french fries..My tongue starts swelling and hurts. I am not sure exactly what is causing it. Long John Silvers makes my tongue swell and hurt very badly. Do you have any clue what could be causing this. I went and saw my doc around a year ago when I started noticing this. She said she had never encountered anyone with this issue. I am beginning to wonder if I need to be tested for food allergies. I am allergic to several antibiotics and have always been a little sensitive to all kinds of fabrics, earrings, perfumes, body lotions.

I have had an allergic reaction for nearly 2 months now. I dont go to the allergist for another week, however the reaction is on random places on my face and swells up my eye brows, cheecks, eyes and the bridge of my nose. The reaction comes on one spot and then returns on another. Anyone ever had this happen?? And no it is not acne. Also, when is a good time or bad time, or RIGHT time to take epipen or call doctor?

I've never had allergies to shell fish before, but last time I went to a shrimp boil (it's a Louisiana thing) I had what I THINK might have been an allergic reaction. The skin around my mouth and nose turned red, and my epilepsy started acting up. So, I'm not sure if it was the shrimp, or maybe just the spices on the shrimp, or if it was just my epilepsy doing something weird. Are there any medical tests that can be performed to determine allergies to shell fish?

Last wk I posted about having swelling and soreness in my nose, was determined to be sinusitis. We've been staying in motel room on contract job for three months. We've been noticing a nasty musty smell for three weeks now, and it's only when the ac is on. Is it possible that there's mold in the ac, and that caused my strange problem? The filter is cleaned weekly. Could the two things be related???

During the late 1990’s I began having problems with my tongue swelling, geographic tongue with painful blisters and difficulty breathing when I eat a some popular food chains. I never had food allergies prior to this. Are there other people with this problem? I am beginning to wonder if globalization and food brought into this country is the culprit since eating at home it never happened and eating at privately owned diners it seldom happens, but at certain chain restaurants it always happens.

My son has a multitude of food allergies and I am looking for some good online companies that offer packaged products that fit his needs.
The key is that the foods have to be labeled very well to prevent him getting even a trace of something he is allergic to.
His current diet is a gluten ( wheat) casein (dairy products) egg, soy, peanut, shellfish free diet.

I am looking for suggestions from people that have actually used these sites and can attest to their products.

Please don't waste my time or yours telling me to google it.. I have done that thank you.

Thanks for your help

A mom cat brought kittens to our porch at 14 weeks of age. They appear to be part snowshoe cats, which has been said to be a hypo-allergenic cat. My husband is allergic to cats, but we have been doing a good job cleaning the cats and the house. Our two little girls 4 and 8,who have very long hair, love to hold them. It's easy to wash up the girls before their dad gets home from work, but not so easy when we are together all day on the weekends. Sometimes when he gets close to our girls, he sneezes or gets dander or a hair in his eye and has an allergic reaction. If he gets an allergic reaction in his eye it creates a chain reaction and he gets a runny nose. And then proceeds to use his inhaler. He has asthma. Any suggestions? We are all really attached to these kittens that we want to adopt.

Two days ago some of them became swollen, itchy and painful. One on the back of my leg seems to be spreading out and is hot and inflamed. I got cortisone cream and antihistamine tablets from the pharmacist today, and am hoping that these will do the trick. Has anyone any other advice or wonder remedies....please? I'm pretty desperate.
Thanks.

Is this very uncommon. Could it be due to severe stress?? She coughs all the time, and she throws up often from coughing. She's not losing a lot of weight though. But it's been going on for a few months now, i'm really worried and didn't know where else to look, any thoughts would be appreciated!

I'm 18 and when I press in between my eyes, it makes a really weird clicking, squelching noise, and my ears hurt and throat hurt at the time. I went to an allergist and they did the scratch test on me, nothing came up, even the one that is supposed to! They said my skin doesn't react to it, so I had to have a blood test. Well I havn't gotten the results yet in the meantime, I am feeling horrible. It really bothers me when it happens, which is usually at night time. Even when someone is sitting near me, they can hear it themselves, so it's not in my head! Is there anything I can do to relieve this, and does this even sound like allergies? Thanks, everyone :)
