Well all of a sudden my eye started to get red and i went to my doctors and they said i have allergys. I never had this before i had it for the past 4 months ( April 2007 - Now ). My Optometrist said i might of devolped allergys to my contacts but i haven't worn them in 4 months also. My eyes are always red in the morning and somethings throughout the day. Also something i found strange i use to have pink eye about 3 months ago. Once in a while there is discharge but then my eyes are still white. Can anybody explain this to me ??

When I was like 8 yrs old and first tasted crab, like a good 2 hours later I broke out into what seems to have been huge itchy hives. Even though I did not eat much of it through out my teens if I had some crab or shrimp I'd be ok. On my 18th birthday I had lobster for the first time at some fancy shmancy restaurant and couldnt even finish up the rest of my meal because my tounge started to feel heavy and my throat was itchy. Never again have I had shelled fish again until the other night my cousin made food that had shrimp in it, I went to bed and then the next day woke up with my top lip swollen like crazy.

I don't know what to think cause sometimes i'll eat shelled fish and be ok and then other times my body goes insane. Help?

Many days, I will sneeze violently 4-6 times in a row. I may not sneeze at all for the rest of the day. Or, I may sneeze hard 2-4 times in a single day. It doesn't depend on the month or weather conditions. I don't live in a dusty apartment, and I've never been known to be allergic to anything.

Is this an allergy?

One last question that I've been curious about for a long time: many years ago, I woke up and immediately smelled a strong scent of vinegar in the air. My dad used to clean the coffee maker with vinegar so I figured he had been running it (the steam carried the smell all around the house). To my surprise, he hadn't done anything. Everyone was still asleep. However, I smelled vinegar for most of that day, and couldn't put my contacts in because my eyes burned when I tried.

This never happened again. Could it have been a one day allergy that my body learned to defeat?

It's extremely hot outside and when it gets really humid outside, my sinsues run me crazy! I have tried everything... from laying down and putting the covers over my head, putting my face over hot steam, taking an extremely hot bath, I can't seem to get any relief. Do you have any suggestions?

Reason I am asking is because I eat at Chicfilet alot and never have an allergic reaction. All of their chicken is cooked in "refined" peanut oil. See, I dont know exactly what element in peanuts causes a reaction for those allergic to them. So maybe this "refined" peanut oil lacks that content? I dont know.
I need PROFESSIONAL answers. Thanks!

Has ragweed season come into full bloom yet in the western part of Missouri?
The pollen sites say we have been med-high for pollen, but gawd you need a masters degree in horticulture to figure out which ragweed we have, etc.
I have always suffered severly from ragweed but have not shown symptoms yet...I am wondering if the steroid shot I got last season has changed my immune system (I know it did this spring, I never used to get contact dermititis from cats, but did this spring) or, if the season just hasn't started yet because of weather conditions.
Any and all input is much welcome THANKS

I have had 2 severe (anaphalactic) allergic reactions after eating shrimp. I've eaten shellfish my whole life, but the emergency room/hospital Dr. said you can develop an allergy at any point in life. They told me it could kill me to eat it.
My question is, aside from lobster, shrimp, crab and scallops...what else are considered shellfish? I also like mussels and calamari...are these shellfish too? I just don't want to make a big mistake.
