Most people get allergies sooner or later. An allergy means that you have an abnormal reaction to a certain type of food, something in the air, or to a medication.

Since you have a medication you must have seen a doctor. He probably also checked you to see what you are allergic to. Many people in time can grow out of their allergy. Many others never do grow out of it.

Look at the warnings on the bottle of medicine that you have. You should also have been given a sheet of information abut the medication. You may also go to a good search engine such as Yahoo or Google and place the name of the medication into the search box and after the name add + side effects. Read these sources carefully.

The doctor and the pharmacist may also be called. If you are certain perhaps you can get a friend to go with you and stay with you until you return home. Do not, however, do anything that may damage your health or safety.

Speak to your parents before you go and see if they agree that you can go to this meeting.

I'd like to know who told you, you have allergies? And what medicines are you taking?

There are 2 types of allergies, seasonal and all-year round. The seasonal ones are usually associated with pollen from trees, weeds, and grasses. The 2nd can be but not limited to molds, animal danders, feathers, dust, and some foods. If you have sneezing, sniffling, sore throat, post-nasal drip and general fatigue for more than a week, then it's an allergy. However, if you have a fever, that's a cold or flu virus.

Sounds more like a bacterial or viral infection to me. If you are still symptomatic (and you have an infection) taking your medicine will not prevent you from being contagious. Out of curiosity, if this is the first time you have suffered from allergies, what made you assume that it was an allergy? See your doctor.

That does not sound like allergies; it sounds like you have a cold. Allergies do not normally cause body aches and you don't recover from them. They will come back again every year at the same time.

if you are going to proceed with taking this medicine, make sure you are taking the correct amount and that you have read all of the ingredients[[in case of reaction]], and discussed the side effects with your parents.

besides that, it should be fine.:]]
