If you need an over the counter medication without a prescription then you can try Hydrocortisone. It will help relieve inflammation, and if you have any itching it will help with that as well. I would also recommend Prednisone, but you will need a prescription for that. Good Luck.

Prednisolone is otherwise known as Medrol dose 21 pack. It is the only thing that would stop a killer allergic reaction from spreading especially through the body. But bear in mind, it stops all skin reaction including things you would like to know, like an insect bite. Once off this medication, your skin reaction goes back to normal. This is by prescription only.

Prednisone is one that you can take internally. Hydrocortisone Lotion is something you apply externally to the skin. Hope this helps answer your question!
