I've been getting asthma attacks since Friday. I'm afraid to go to sleep because I might not wake up to take my inhaler.

My boyfriend had surgery yesterday to get a plate and 8 screws removed from his collar bone. When he woke up, we (mother, father, and me) were allowed to see him. He was deathly pale, and looked extremely blotchy. Like all the blood vessels in his face had popped into little dots.

We immediately asked the nurse about this and she said it was a little unusual for him to be doing that but that it could just be from having been put under so late in the day. She then assured us that he would be fine. (it was time for closing, she wanted us out of there).

The next morning (today), none of the blotchy-ness has gone away AND now there are popped blood vessels in both of his eyes. I gave him a benadryl and then we called the doctor. He said the benadryl should been fine and that he was probably allergic to some medicine he was given in the procedure. That we shouldn't worry.
I'm looking at him tonight, he looks not well, but feels fine. His eyes are very swollen and red. Go to ER?

I'm 22 and since a year from time to time I get nosebleed only from my right nostril for no reason. I don't understand what is causing it. I know sometimes I feel a little pressure or better to say a little excited/anxious for no reason but just a little.

So if you could give me any advice or site or whatever that can help me figure out what's going on with this thing, I would really appreciate!

Thanks!

I have been under a considerable amount of distress this past year or so. But for the past month or so, I have been breaking out in hives...on all parts of my body...but what most concerns me are my eyes, lips, face. I went for and alergy test last week and am waiting for the results. But also, I have been suffering from some intense migraine headaches. CAn someone help me understand what this all could be? Should I be really concerned? Or are these symptoms of stress?

Thank you.

My hubby has really bad allergic reactions to cats. For the most part we are able to avoid contact with kitties, however, most of our friends own them unfortunately. We'd like to be able to go to our friend's houses more, but when we break down and do this, it ends up getting my husband really sick. He tries taking things like Alavert and Benedryll, but they leaved him doped up and don't seem to help all that much ultimately.

Does anyone have any suggestions on how to control/beat the allergy symptoms? (We would prefer a natural or holisitc method as opposed to Rx meds). We hate to continue turning invitations down to people's houses, but at the same time, I can't stand to see my hubby suffer. Help!

Every single day for about a month in a half now i have broken out in pretty severe hives all over my legs. they last for approx. an hour, sometimes more, sometimes less and occur at different times of the day.
i have never been allergic to anything in the past and i have no idea what is causing this.
i have tried everything to find out what this could be from and no one knows. but my question is, are there any lotions or creams that i could apply daily that will make the hives go away quickly and stop itching?
i have poison ivy anti-itch lotion, but that only helps to stop the itching.
but i need something to get rid of the ugly hives and redness faster. any suggestions?

Hi all,

Not sure what my odds are of having some sort of med professional answer this but here goes. i have been to 3 doctors and they are saying i have symptoms of allergies. However, whatever I take does NOT work. My throat is ticklish so I cough all the time, I have a lot of nose congestion and mucus (no weird coloring, thank god) and post nasal drip. I have tried Sudafed, Alka Seltzer, Robitussin, and now Claritin.I also got a prescrition for Flonase two days ago. Also, when I touch the sides of my throat (like right under the base of my jawline, my glands are very sore).

I seriously cannot take this agony anymore...this has been going on for 9 days now. Any thoughts? Something more serious or am I just overreacting? Should I just wait it out?

Has anyone else experienced this?? Thanks.

I have bipolar disorder and take Lithium, Lamictal, Wellbutrin, Abilify and Levothyroxine. Since August, I haven't been able to get a full breath most days. I'm still able to walk at a fast pace on my treadmill but it's just bothersome. It feels like I could lose my breath completely (just a paniky feeling). I don't smoke or drink alcohol and physically I am very healthy.
The only seasonal allergies I do get is this time of year I usually get hay fever like symptoms (watery eyes, contant sneezing) but I don't get the shortness of breath.
I had a workup with a cardiologist last year and everything was fine with my heart, EEG, EKG. Could you tell me what you think it is?

I can't eat raw apples, carrots, or cherries - makes my throat really itchy and swells up. I can eat them if they are cooked or processed, but fresh causes a reaction. Sometimes raw celery and broccoli will bother me too, but not as much..

It seems to be sort of common, I know of a few other people who have this too... what is it? Is there a name for it?? Can anything be done to get rid of it??

I just found out that I am allergic to milk, wheat, rice, and corn, which my doctor suggests is why I am constantly fatigued, irregular, and it actually lowers my immune system. My problem is that I love carbs. So, what carbs can I eat? What is this new diet going to look like? Any suggestions would be really helpful. (Also, I am totally going through withdrawals!)

I know some medications take a while before they start to work (like Flo-Nase takes about a week). Does anyone know how long it will take the Zyrtec to actually help me?
