I was wondering, I know it's a strange question but can you get AIDS from a flee? (I don't have flees)! I just want to know.......

I have often wondered that sort of question myself, so no i don't think it is a strange question. Fleas could bite one person and then annother, so you would imagine that they could carry the disease, adn bed bugs actually suck your blood when they bite and feed on it, so they are even worse, but actually I don't think that either can pass this sort of disease on. Eugh, horrible scary thought though eh?!

It's spelled flea. It's always a good idea to use the spell check if you're not sure about the spelling of words. But the answer is No. You can't contract AIDS except by sex, contaminated needles, or contact with someone's blood who has it and it enters a cut on your body.

Always good to know the how's to avoid.

opk lets start here, AIDS and HIV are blood carried viruses, they must have a host to survive, jsut as miscitos cant trasfer it, fleas cant either and niether can most parasitic organisms. Mainly the bugs that suck blood cannot sustain a viral infection for long, only maleria and lime disease have been reported to live in them mainly becuase its bactirea not a viral stran, AIDS requires the host to jenerate white blood cells and muscle tissue to stay alive.

erm....probably not no.......firstly humans don't generally carry fleas themselves but pick them up from animals so if the is any aids present it would probably be feline and hence not communicable to human beings. secondly if a flea from a cat bit a human with aids and it bit you would(if it was possible) catch hiv and not aids itself. thirdly i don't know how much of the virus you would need to be exposed to in order to catch it. fourthly i don't actually know if fleas have a probiscus in order to suck blood or whether they simply bite and lick as it were the bood that appears. so in short? pass!! gives you more questions than answrs i know but hey....i tried. damn good question though!

the HIV virus only lives outside the human body for 30mins (fleas are not a human body!).

AIDS is a syndrome that people with the HIV virus can develop so you can't catch AIDS from anyone or anything it would be HIV that was caught.

No, running away cannot give you AIDS.
That is, unless in the action of fleeing you trip and fall onto some infected needles or something like that.

no its not a strange question, quite a logical one. The same has been asked about mosquito's, they may have the virus but can NOT pass it on as they are to small to carry enough.

Not that I'm aware of. Fleas bite yes if you have an animal that has contracted them.
Take care and have a nice day.

Some say no. I'm not so sure since fleas are blood-feeders.
