I know some medications take a while before they start to work (like Flo-Nase takes about a week). Does anyone know how long it will take the Zyrtec to actually help me?

According to the manufacturer's research, Zyrtec starts working in about 20 minutes, and its effects peak in an hour.

Zyrtec is an antihistamine.

Flo-Nase is a corticosteroid, and those take longer to work for allergies.

zyrtec can be used for allergies suppose to relieve red and itchy hives on the skin caused by allergies from pollens, food, chemical, or even mild drug reactions etc. can cause dry mouths, drowsiness. zantac is used mostly for peptic ulcers simulates the production of acid by the cells lining the stomach Hard to say why he would recommend the two a bit drastic in my books. Be best if you go and ask why? Myself l would look for a second opinion and use a more natural cure.

I use it on and off for allergies. It takes a good week and a half to really start working.

My boys take Claritan and it takes forever!
