I like to go oral on my women. However the fear of catching HIV looms large in my mind and undermines all the pleasure. Hence I typically avoid despite a desire. How easy is it to catch HIV during oral with a female? Does the virus reside in vaginal secretions?

I have been set a Science Assignment and have chosen to do Scurvy under the catergory 'Disease.'
I have written a short report which i plan to present as an oral presentation along with a PowerPoint slideshow.
If you have any knowledge on the subject please read my report, comment and/ or suggest other points for me to include.
PLEASE! I really want good marks for this and I'd love some expert advice.

Scurvy is a non-infectious deficiency disease caused by a lack or Vitamin C. Scurvy can cause many infections and disfigurations including liver spots, 'spongy' gums and bleeding from all mucous membranes. (These membranes line various
body cavities that are exposed to the external environment and internal organs.) Scurvy is also often referred to as Barlow's Disease, after Sir Thomas Barlow, a british physician who first described it. Scurvy does not only infect humans, animals such as Primates and Guinea Pigs are also at risk as they have a natural Vitamin C defficiency.

The symptoms of this disease include
'Purplish' spots on the skin, especially the legs
'Spongy' gums
Bleeding Mucous Membranes
Pallor (a reduced amount of oxyhemoglobin in skin or mucous membranes which results in pale colouration of the skin.) -Oxyhemoglobin is the oxygen-loaded form of hemoglobin, the predominant protein in red blood cells.
Sunken Eyes
Opening of healed scars
Separation of knitted bone fractures.

History
Scurvy was first discovered in the early 13th Century, however it was not until 1747 that citrus was proven as the best and most affective cure. The connection between Vitamin C and Scurvy was not discovered until 1932.

Modern Incidence
Infants and elderly people are at high risk of Scurvy and it is very common for people of that category to become infected with the disease. (Even I had it when I was a baby!!!) Scurvy is rare in adults, however if they become infected Scurvy can easily prove fatal, much like the mumps.

Prevention
Scurvy can easily be prevented by a diet of citrus fruits (such as oranges and lemons) and/ or Vitamin C supplements.

Well, on saturday I had what felt like a really bad ear infection and I couldn't get the pain to stop. So I called my doctor and she prescribed me some antibiotics and now my ear feels ok. I can't ear out of it very well, but that always happens when I get ear infections. But tonight, I cleaned out my ears with a q-tip and the one that is infected had blood in it. Could this mean I burst my ear drum?? What do I need to do?? Please help! Thank you

Please help me. I have been to so many doctors. Any suggestion I will look into.

I don't like to eat because it makes my stomach hurt. I mean it is bearable but I would rather not go through it. When I do eat I get this pain in what feels like is right underneath my rib cage and I usually feel like throwing up afterward but I hardly ever do. I also have back pain that can be pretty bad. Whenever I eat it seems like it comes right out about an hour later. Also I am freezing cold all the time. My memory had gone bad and a doctor told me I was on the verge of type 2 diabetes although I am not obese. I am normal weight.

Nothing has shown up on any CAT scans except for a few swollen lymphnodes (spelling?) and a few small cysts on my right ovary. Please if you have any idea what this is I would appreciate your thoughts.

Instead, it's an "alternative lifestyle". Well, then, why isn't alcoholism an alternative lifestyle? Why isn't drug addiction an alternative lifestyle? Why isn't shizophrenia an alternative lifestye? Be open minded and really think about this one.

My fiance wants to make a blood promise, in a romantic setting under the moon or somethin... we're both going to prick our index fingers with a needle and we'll have our fingers touch as we say our vows to each other...cheesy I know...but hey I think it's romantic.

Is it bad if our blood mixes like that? Could we die or get really sick from that? I think we're the same blood type...but if hypothetically we weren't...would this be bad? (and no neither of us have HIV lol)

Here's the poop.
For years now, I have been having severe reactions to eating....especially big meals...and especially after I've gone a while without eating.
What happens: I eat a nice meal. 30 minutes later, my heart begins pounding out of my chest...sometimes irregularly. I dont know much, but I know unless you've been really physically active, you shouldnt feel your heart beating like this. Also, My body gets a little tingly and I begin to get drowsy...more like malase. My breathing becomes a little labored too. Soon, I fall asleep, but only for 15-20 minutes. It is a DEEP sleep!
When I wake up my whole body is kinda numb, kinda "buzzy" and I feel like I have been drugged. It takes me forever to get out the post-nap funk. I can tell you that NO prescribed pain killers or pain meds have EVER made me feel the same kind of ssedation.

Also, if I am in a situation where I cant go to sleep (in the store or restaurant), I get dizzy and anxious and fidgety
Any thoughts?

If I get an MRI scan of the thoracic part in my back, will it show any problems in the front of my body??? like any problems with my vital organs? because when i breathe in, it hurts... Xray showed nothing and MRI is next . I have a herniated disk and a pinched nerve. I feel like someone is stabbing me with a knife from the inside of my ribcages... it hurts soo much when i'm holding a pencil to do homework, I end up breaking the pencil from the pain. and this is around where ur heart is. that's where the pain is. but if it's a back problem, why does the pain appear in the front all of a sudden???? and once again... if i take an MRI of the back, will it show any probs of my vital organs if there are any??? thanks... the worried peachyberry !!!! =(

Whatever, she said one came back pos. and the other neg. wich ment that it was my first outbreak. I know everyone has their own preferences, but I want to know which brand is really better.
I'm looking at Durex, Trojan and Kimono. Price doesn't matter as long as they have a very low breaking rate and it's something we both can enjoy.

Please tell me the pros and cons to these brands. (Sources appreciated if possible)

Thanks!

Okay..I eat quite alot of unhealthy food - like food high in sugar, fat and salt (pizza, fried chicken, etc), and I get little or no exercise, plus I drink Coca-Cola like everyday. I am not overweight because the medicine I take for ADHD (concerta) reduces my appetite. Oh, and I'm 17.
Am I putting myself at risk of heart disease?

I had just been diagnosed with PID over 2 weeks ago. I started having sex after me and my husband were cured. But I still notice not pian, but sensitivity. Not pain, but sensitivity and I'm TERRIFIED that the antibiotics didn't cure it all the way evn though I took it all as I was supposed with total abstainance for the whole time. Is this normal?

I am in my late thirties. I have had an elevated ESR of around 60-65 for the past 4 years. On the doctor's advice, I have had all kinds of tests to ascertain the reason including endoscopy, colonoscopy, ultrasound, kidney tests, etc. All tests came back ok. I just get tired easily and often feel that my muscles and joints are sore. But other than this, I am generally healthy and have no health problems as such. It just bugs me that I have elevated ESR and nobody can tell me specifically why!

He went camping and slept in a hammock and sleepingbag. He got up at dawn, sat doen, and once he leaned over, hid uvula flipped on top of his tongue, and became stuck. When his friend looked, he said it looked like he had 2 very swollen tongues. I met him at the e.r., and the doctors didn't seem woried at all. They treated him for an allergic reaction, gave hima shot of pennicillin, and sent us home. What can cause this? He thinks that maybe his troat and such dried out severly, nd then became inflamed. I think that he may have inhaled something that eh is allergic to while alseep, however, he is 37, and this has never happened before. He also snores terribly. Can that have anything to do with it/ The e.r. did take a swb of the back of his throat, but they weren't expecting anything like strep. He told me that when it was at the biggest size, he couldn't inhale through his mouth, swallow or talk. Thank God his sinuses were fine, so he breathed through his nose. Help?

I have a perscription of Singulair for indoor and outdoor allergies.. are there any medical professionals out there who know what medicines I cannot take with this regarding other allergies I might have?

Example would be allergies for eyes. When the wind is up my eyes hurt and burn, doctors have told me this could be an allergic reaction to whats in the air. If I take a medicine for this, would it interact okay with Singulair?

I did a lot of binge drinking, all through out college, so.. for four years. I still held down a full-time job, and had almost a 4.0, so I wasn't that worried about it. Now I'm worried that I could have damaged my liver. I drank heavily about twice a week. Is there anything I can do now to help get my liver healthy?
