I went to the doctor on friday to find out the results of a kidney xray. I found out that I had a kidney stone in my right and apparently I have an abnormality in the left kidney in the renal column (Bertin column or column of bertin). I realise this is probable quite a tough questions (i could not find much on the internet) but could anyone tell me:
1) what part of the kidney this is
2) what kind of issues or problems occur with this.

Thank you

I have been sick all year and my doctor recently suggested that it might be diabetes. Here are some of my symptoms:
*I go to the toilet a LOT
* Always tired even after a good nights sleep
* have recently fainted twice in 3 days
* Feel sick after eating
* headaches
Could someone tell me if these are the symptoms of diabetes and what type?
I am a teenage girl.
Thanks :)

I hope that I am not part Jewish because I know that there are certain diseases that only people of a Jewish ethnicity can get such as Gaucher disease. It is possible that it could be German or Irish blood and I was wondering if I could have a DNA test to tell for sure (to at least rule out the Jewish blood). Are these expensive?

I returned from a year in Iraq over 6 months ago, but I still have serious problems falling asleep. I have to usually stay up to the point of exhaustion, even if I did the same thing the in the days prior. 4 and 5 hours of sleep are the norm. While lying in bed I have intrusive memories.
The army doctors gave me some ambien which worked temporarily, but makes me act real funny once it kicks in. Anyone else have similar issues?

Sorry I put this in the wrong category ….so I’ll try one more time….. My brother will be having this procedure this coming Tuesday…if any of you guys know of someone or has experience this yourself…can you please tell me…..just how serious this is and what will happen to his health after its done….the doctors gave some information but it was mostly statistics….I kind of one to know from individuals who lived with it …thanks for taking the time to reply

I've heard that several types of nuts -- including almonds, walnuts, pistachios and I think one or two others -- contain compounds that help reduce LDL ("bad cholesterol") and/or help raise HDL ("good cholesterol"). In some cases the compounds are monounsaturated and/or polyunsaturated fats, but I believe I've read of other healthful compounds as well.

What I'd like to know is which nuts are the best at lowering LDLs and/or raising HDLs? If anyone also knows of an actual list that ranks the nuts in ORDER, from the most beneficial to the least beneficial, I'd love if you could share that with me too!! :) Due to a genetic propensity for elevated cholesterol, I want to eat the nuts that will help me the most.

Also, how much of these health benefits are reduced if the nuts are baked or toasted? The reason I ask is because I'm allergic to walnuts, but they only irritate my mouth when RAW. If they're toasted, candied, etc., then they're fine.

Thanks again! :)

Just today I took my rescue inhaler and I feel worse. Could it be because I'm pregnant that it's not working or that it's just the baby crushing my lungs or that albuterol doesn't work for me anymore.

Ok well it started out breast cancer, plus 16-17 positive nodes..the ONC told me there was a strong chance the cancer would re-occur even though I was going through high amounts of chemo
Well last week I was told that a mass was found in my back and shoulder...they would be starting rads Monday and also continue my chemo treatment.
These mass' most likely mean that I am stage 4...but the doctor says Im not terminal...I thought stage 4 was terminal...I dont even know what questions to ask...or what to think
Anyone got good advice about what I should do or ask???
