Music, reading always put me to sleep.Meditation and prayers also help. Overhaustion is not a good factor for sleep. That's why strenuous exercise except sex ; just before bedtime is not a very good idea.

That's a good question... How's reading work for you? Can you drift off reading in bed? More importantly why are some of us cursed to stay up so late. I used to do over-night stock so that's my excuse what about you? Why must we be alert to see nothing but the night sea dark dingy and deeply holding me from being free.

Exercise!!!
Seriously, I always sleep better when I am exercising regularly.
I get stress induced insomnia, and exercising helps me get relief from stress.
I have heard that healthy diet and not smoking helps a lot of insomniacs too.

She is right about excersise, try working out for about a half hour during the day. Or if you like, about a cpl hours before bed. By the time you step out of the shower you will be ready for bed.

Yoga is great for beating insomnia. It encourages you to stretch, relax, breath deeply, and feel centered. One night, my aunt and I were showing each other different yoga poses. After trying out each other's poses, I began to feel so sleepy!
