I had gestational diabetes for the last 3 months of my pregnancy. I controlled it very well with diet alone and my son was born 2 weeks ago with no complications. I have been checking my blood sugar a few times a day and I have had some high readings when I eat a lot of carbs. Does anyone know if it takes a few weeks for your pancreas to recover from gestational diabetes or does this mean I have the real thing? I am quite distressed about this. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

This may seem like an odd question to post on Yahoo! Q+A but I figured I'd wing it out there before eventually making a Dr. appointment somewhere. Ever since high school I've had a hard problem breathing when I run. I was in marching band since I was 12 and it never affected me during marching band, etc. unless we had to run. I'm fine walking fast but jogging give me minor breathing problems where it seems that my heart is beating too fast and I can't catch up to myself internally. When I finish running or jogging, etc. my entire body feels overexerted like I'm going to pass out or something and my heart beats very fast. My mother's side of the family has an asthmatic history with my mother having the worst case (with near-death experiences due to her asthma) and my oldest brother (5 years older) used to have it bad but his died down a bit and my other brother (13 mos. older) doesn't have it at all. My brothers and I didn't go to dr. growing up (from 9-18 anyhow) so possible asthma?

I am allergic to: dust mite, all kind of dust, feathers, fur of cats, dogs and sheep, demodex mite, fish food (dried), fescue (have never seen it in my life), goose-foot, timothy-grass, couch-grass, wormwood, Indian corn and hogweed.
We yet didn't do bacterial and fungi tests, but it's already seems like to everything! How can one survive this? It is not possible to take that many precautions!

So we can be protected against all viruses. Like if we created a harmless germ that constantly mutated in our bloodstream but spread fast enough to where it wouldn't be killed off so that we would produce antibodies for every kind?

I was supposed to have a fasting blood test this morning but forgot & ate one blackberry while walking the dog this morning. Will this matter?
The test is for cholesterol (doctor's notation says VAP Cholesterol LpLla2)? My last real meal was at 7:30 last night. How long should I wait now?

I have chronic insomnia. It started probably 8 years ago. On an initial appointment with a new OBGYN, my doctor asked if I was on the pill. I answered yes, and he advised me to go off of it because over time, the pill interferes with serotonin levels. I did that, and in a week was sleeping like a baby. Then, over the course of time, my sleeping problems came back. It has been years on and off of sleep aids. I have tried Valerian root, melatonin, tylenol pm, and of course the prescription stuff, but then I end up a zombie the next day. I read about 5-htp and was wondering whether or not this might be a solution.

I found a couple (two or three) whiteish bumps on my vulva that resembled ingrown hairs a week after having unprotected sex with a new partner who claimed to be clean. The area itched like mad and the bumps were sore and lasted a little over a week. At first I thought it was bad razor burn because I tend to shave down there without shaving cream. The bumps never crusted over before going away, which is something that every website I've checked says happens. I went to my doctor but my blood tests came back unsure, and my doctor wants me to retake them in 6 weeks. So now I'm confused about what to do and still unsure if this is herpes or not.

Help?
