It usually means you have an infection somewhere. The doctor will probably put you on antibiotics for approx' a week then you'll have another blood test to see if the infection has gone.

a high white blood count means that you have an infection somewhere and as far as the pain in the left side they will tell you that it is nothing because there is nothing over there unless you are a woman in which case it could be your ovary and if it was that it would be very bad stricking pains.

a high white blood cell count means your body is fighting off some kind of infection, or something llike a virus, it is a sign that something is going on inside your white blood cells are your immunity, and if the count is high it is because your body is fighting off something, your doctor is probably going to have to do more tests, probably include an ultrasound, or something, you should be drinking lots of water, eat lots of fresh fruits and veggies and really important to get lots of rest, or sleep, to help your body, and DEFINATELY NO ALCOHOL OR DRUGS, UNTIL YOU KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON, AS ALCOHOL LOWERS YOUR IMMUNITY MORE, SO WAIT UNTIL YOU KNOW. you can;t really know anything though until they do more tests, as a high count just signifies that something is going on inside your body, hope this helps take care hope you feel better

This is very non-specific, particularly since you give no symptoms. Any infection or physical stress such as injury can cause a raised white count as can immune issues and leukaemias.

This means: you have an infection in a part of your body. White cells fight against foreign bodies which enter into our bodies. When it increases, (it is a good thing) it means that there is a fight between microbs and our defence system

It indicates an infection.....you could have a UTI, kidney infection or the flu. Make sure you tell the doctor about your symptom so they can evaluate you and get you on an antibiotic.

It means you're ill. White blood cells are produced to fight of every illness, I think. Don't start worrying excessively, it could mean you have a simple cold that hasn't shown itself yet.
