I am nervous about haveing a blood smear test my white cells have been evautled over the last two months and wont go down so I am scared do u think I have the right to be scared?

My father has Macular Degeneration.
His right eye has been really affected, he sees a big blur in front of any image.
He went to Brazil to be treated for a few times (he doens't have insurance here, so he went there where he can get medical services under his insurance there.)
He doens't work, and he has a hard time doing many tasks. I'm trying to help, I want to do anything to help!
Can anyone tell me how to go about insurance? Which insurance could he get? Which ones are good?
We are in Massachusetts.

Note: Many would think: How come he goes to Brazil a few times when he doens't work, well all the expenses were covered by friends and relatives.

I've heard diabetics can get this, but I don't know what it is. I have type 2 diabetes, and I don't want my health to go down too much. Do you get this neuropathy even if your sugar stays in good control?

When I walk, I feel a pain on the bottom of my left foot, like a knife is stabbing into it. I went to a podiatrist about this two weeks ago, and he said I had plantar fasciitis. The pain comes and goes, but when it's bad, it's really painful, and putting any weight on it at ALL hurts like heck (like I said it feels like a knife is stabbing into my foot)! My question is, what should I do about it? I am wearing, per the podiatrist's instructions, supportive shoes (birkenstocks or good sneakers), but I still have pain sometimes.

it is one of those deseases that can linger for 30 years or more without doing any damage to your liver. How do you know when to do something? Virus's can run trhu your blood system forever. Did you know that once you have the mumps you will forever test positive fcor mumps? is hep c the same way?

i am being put on accutane for my acne and i wanted people who have taken to tell me how it worked for them. i am not looking for people to tell me to try proactiv or something, ive tried every presciption topical cream, antibiotic, and anything else. if you had any side affects let me know, thatd be helpful...thank you

fyi: im being started on a low dose (20 mg at 180 lbs) so i hopefully wont break out really bad at first.

I have twin toddlers and I hate taking them to the church nursery because 9 out of 10 times, they come down with a cold or some other "bug" a few days later (even though the nursery has a "no sick kids allowed" policy). As a result, we avoid taking them when possible. I regularly, however, have other parents tell me that it's better to allow them to get sick over and over now, so by the time they are school-aged, they won't have so many colds or other illnesses.
Personally, I don't buy it. Aren't there hundreds of strains of colds/flu/etc? Seems to me, they're going to continue to catch whatever is out there, now AND later, because colds don't share the same germs and thoughtless parents continue to bring their sick children to public places. What's the real science here?

I don't have the typical black under-eye circles. Rather, the swelling under both of my eyes is more of a violet color. Also, the skin under my eyes is so thin and delicate that you can see a vein on both sides.

Does this mean I'm experiencing food allergies? I'm 16. I drink enough water, sleep enough, exercise and I'm extremely healthy.

I am over wieght and my doctors says that I am my way of being type 2 diabetic... How long until I am diabetic and what exact food should I avoid. I had by sugar tested and they said it was high. just wondering how long I will l last if I dont change

It started 18months ago with ear ache which was excrutiatingly painfull, that soon spread down my neck and caused severe pain in my head. After about 2months the pain eased and all this smelly green stuff came oozing out. Its been like that ever since (2005). It has bled,theres skin coming out and the smell started getting worse and my hearing isnt the same. Im on about my 10th lot of antibiotics but things arent helping. Doctor is just as confused!! Can anyone help? Is my hearing going to return?
