My husband has this and is in pain EVERY day, he is only 27! He has had nerves burned in his back, but that did nothing. He is on Methadone for chronic pain and his Dr. recently prescribed him Percocet 10 with his Methadone. This helps a little bit, but not much.
Does anyone know someone that has done anything that has really helped them, is this a hopeless cause?
I feel horrible for my husband and have in the past told him that I wouldn't blame him if he commited suicide, but I obviously don't want him to do that!
I just don't know what we can do from this point on and it's driving him crazy.

I recently came down with shingles, and am worried that if I am around people that it might be contageous. I have checked out all the online medical websites, and they are all very detailed about what shingles is and its symptoms, they're just kind of vague on the topic of whether its contageous or not.

I know someone who had sexual intercouse w/a person who had HPV (before this person knew they had the virus) but somehow didn't contract the virus themselves. Is it possible that they could just be a carrier of the virus? If so, how long could they carry this virus?

I have experienced chest discomfort for the last 6 to 7 years , have had numerous tests done and all come back normal, I am on lipitor , which I have stopped taking to see if that helps with the muscle and chest pain, I currently am taking prvicid for acid reflux. My blood pressure is perfect. I also take CoQ10 , Omega 3 fish oil, and a multivitamin daily. I try to maintain a healthy life style and currently about 10 pounds overweight , I try to lift weights 3 times a week and do High intenstity interval cardio 3 days a week. My resting heart rate is between 47 and 52 bpm most mornings and daily average is around 66 bpm , when I do cardio exercises it will average between 149 bpm and 180 bpm and within 2 minutes of ending cardio be back down around 100 bpm, I don't consider myself a well conditioned athlete and at 46 years old, am a bit concerned that maybe my heart should be beating faster to supply my body with the oxygen it needs, my doctors I feel don't really believe me. Thanks

I've been on Crestor for about 8 months, and it, along with dietary changes, have lowered my cholesterol considerably. I haven't had any major side effects from it, but wondered if anyone has, and what they are so I know what to be on the lookout for.

the doctors say a have facial neuralgia, it affects the right side of my face and my teeth and the right side, I have had three root canals and one extraction before they found out it was a nerve making everything hurt, they say there is nothing that can cure this, now they just are trying to figure out how to get me out of pain, I am taking an anti-seizure medication for this but it is not helping yet, I take 2400 mg of advil every day and that helps some. does anyone know anything about this or if it can be fixed?

I've heard that eating certain foods can actually reverse the effects of heart and coronary artery disease, such as plaque buildup, hardening of the arteries, etc. Is this true? How much of a change can the right foods really make, and do you have to eat massive quantities of these foods (vegetables, soy, etc.) to see a difference?

I am terrified! I really don't want to have this surgery. I was told I didn't have gallstones but that my gallbladder was functioning only at 10% of what it should be. I'm able to eat pretty much what I want although I do avoid fatty foods. I've never been able to pinpoint my attacks to eating any particular food. After doing a lot of reading on the subject and finding all kinds of things from flushes and supplements that supposedly eliminate the need for surgery to the problems people have after having the surgery and I'm just wondering, what would happend if I just chose not to have it out? I only get the attacks about once every 4 or 5 months and and they only last 30 min. at the most and I have an occasional twinge in between. Is there some kind of risk I'm taking by not having it out? I've already put the surgery off for a year.
