Shingles is caused by the same virus as chickenpox. What happens is that the virus lies dormant in your nerve roots after you go through an episode of chickenpox. Some stress causes a second outbreak, but this time, instead of getting a rash all over your body, you get it just in the distribution of the nerve root that was activated.

Yes, you CAN get multiple bouts of shingles, and they usually involve the same nerve root, so the second/third times you have an outbreak, they will more likely be in the same location as the previous one. Hope that helps.

Yes people often get shingles in the same spot, it lives in a nerve root. I know it is very painful and contagious so get some treatment early so you do not have to suffer long.

You can keep getting out breaks of shingles the rest of your life. Yes they can reoccur in the same place.

Are you sure it's shingles and not just a rash.......but the answer is it is rare but yes you can get shingles again!

Yes, you can. Usually, it's not as bad as the first time. If you think you are getting it again, call the doctor immediately. The sooner they start you on the antiviral, the fewer sores you'll get and less nerve damage.
