My dad was just diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. I've done some research and read a few answers here on yahoo. Everyone is saying that this is "a death sentence". I was wondering if anyone knows how long the average life expectancy is of someone with stage four colon cancer...it has spread to the liver and lungs as well.

My mom just moved a month ago from Arizona to North Carolina. She has had a heart defibrillator in her chest for the past 14 years. She is on Medicare and was prior to the move and was seeing a heart doctor regularly....we need to get her established with a heart doctor here in NC....I made the appointment without a General Practitioner's referral since this is not a new health issue but a continuing one. Does anyone know if Medicare will NOT pay for her appointment unless we get the referrral? The Heart Care Center that she is going to next week, says that they do not require a referal to see her, only that she needed to bring the records from her previous heart doctor in Arizona. I don't know anything about Medicare and my mom's seems confused about it also. Please help.

Diagnosed with 5 mm kidney stone on Friday 09/22. Surgically removed on Wednesday 9/27. Went back to hospital Saturday 09/30 they said they left a small piece of stone in, 1 mm and I will pass it. I thought I passed it this morning. I still have excruciating pain in my left kidney radiating to my left abdomen in front. Pain comes and goes but is extreme if I don’t take pain med. Does that mean I didnt pass it or maybe there is another one? Ouch.

Hillary Clinton asks about breast cancer. What about finding a cure for diabetes which has been killing more poeple since the beginning of time. If there was something I could do, I would. But I believe you need to have lots of money to even be heeard when it comes to things like this.

It is commonly known that those suffering from Sickle Cell Anaemia have an immunity to Malaria.

However, I haven't been able out why this link exists, beyond theorising.

So why is it people with Sickle Cell Anaemia are immune to Malaria?

My skin problem happened a month ago after I ran out of medication as I moved from Thailand to England. I used to apply L.A.G. cream on my face as my Thai doctor told me to. She refused to tell me its chemical name, only said there's lots of ingredients. She told me I had dry skin problem and this medicine'll help reduce the flakes. I was surprised cuz my skin didn't look that bad at all but I believed her and used it.

I have no allergy record but my skin is peeling noticeably, worse than before I used the medicine. When i touch it, the flakes fall all over. I also feel the whole face is stretched all the time (the feeling on the face after u wash your face with strong soap). It's also itchy and red all the time. Now, I start having red spots in the same area, too.

I didn't use face wash product at all after this occured. I've tried various kinds of moisturisers e.g. water based, gel+cream based, green tea extract, or even those anti-aging with SPF 15. None helped.

Pls help!
