It's rather common, so nothing to be too concerned about.

Shame on the person intimating it likely to be sexual abuse. You must have scared this mother out of her mind. The fungus is present in the body, nautrally. It isn't an STD and has nothing to do with sexual abuse.

i've never heard of it, but it's possible.

My wife got one after being on antibiotics for another unrelated problemfor a while, because the antibiotics inadvertently killed off the natural bacteria that exists in a woman in there, thus allowing the yeast to grow unchecked until it became an infection. Has the baby been on antibiotics for a different problem?

Yeast infection s in children are very common ..resulting from antibiotics..Often diaper rash is a yeast infection. Giving the child food with sugar makes it worse. Pinworms are very common in children..often attending daycare centers. Restlessness during sleep is a good indicator. Easy to check for at night with a flashlight...Google pinworms in children..

Yes. My daughter got several yeast when she was 1.5 to 2 years old. She was also on daily antibiodics as well to fight ear infections......so Its definately possible. The doc gave us a couple creams to put on it and they would clear up fast.

Echoing the answer below who chided the woman about saying it is likely sexual abuse. Jesus. Do your research.

My daughter had one, too, and we are much like you, she doesn't go to daycare and she's with us all of the time. Do your own research online for her symptoms. Did the doctor give her some medicines? If not, get another doctor.

yes, my daughter had yeast infection when she was 2, my doctor told me it was from either sitting in the bath tub for extended periods when she wasn't on antibiotics or from the antibiotics she had been on. Also it can be caused from staying to long in bubble baths, I've been told.

It has been my experience that children that young that develop problems like that (when all other causes have been excluded)....when they have been sexually abused....take her to a doctor, and bring that up.
