I suffer really badly from cold sores around my mouth, does anyone have any remedies that work for them? I have tried all the medical "cures" and I don't rate them at all... or do you know what kind of things aggravate/inflame cold sores?

This morning I noticed that I had a quarter size reddish pink spot on the inside of my upper arm. It's doesn't hurt or itch. It's flat and there is no signs of a bug bite, flaking, or swelling. I also have one on my calf that is the size of a half dollar. I have Atopic Dermatitis but this not usually a symptom of it. They don't really have a defined shape but fade out into the rest of the skin. I've had 2 spots like these in the past. One was the size of a dime, also on my upper arm but on the other one and a small one on my wrist just a week ago. They usually went away in 2-3 days. My mother keeps telling me it's a bruise but it doesn't look like one. Bruises are painful and are usually purple or blue, then turn yellow. These just fade away.

Does anyone have any idea of what this could be? It's really bugging me and I'm starting to get worried. I have no health insurance at the moment and can't find any information on this type of spotting on the internet. Any help would be great.

My husbnad is in the early stages of Dementia and his memory is failing rapidly and it is very upsetting to him, and frustrating to me. Is there any memory exercises that can help him remember things that happen daily as well as maybe help him get back the memory of some other simple things...like he can't remember how to operate the washer;the remote control, where his clothing is in certain drawers.how to turn off the buzzer on the alarm clock, etc.
These may seem like petty things...but to someone who used to know them so easily, and now can't...they become a major issue. I am so worried about him...he gets so frustrated and starts saying things he shouldn't.
Please, can't somebody help us!!!!
Thank you in advance!!!
