LAD- Left anterior discenting artery. Left coronary artery branches off into two arteries immediately after leaving aorta. The anterior artery is called LAD and the posterior artery is called Left circumflex (LCX). Left coronary artery is more important because it supplies oxygen to the left side of the heart including left ventricle which pumps blood to the entire human body (systemic circulation).

The LAD probably referrs to the left anterior descending coronary artery, one of two arteries (along with the circumflex) that branch off from the left main coronary artery. The LAD feeds a large portion of the left ventricle and thus is probably the most important of the three coronary arteries.
