My son is seven now and he has almost outgrown it.
He has had so much snot in his young life it breaks my heart. I cried inside for months when he started to draw pictures of himself and he had only two little dots for his nose. The pictures of other people had circles for noses. People are so cruel to him...they act like it is their right to tell him to go blow his nose, like he was a brat for having snot. (I don't bother saying mucous anymore) There was no reason for it...the dry up meds worked but he didn't like taking them. The worst thing was when he got a cold on top of it all!!! Then his tummy would fill up with it, and sometimes he would vomit it up. If he didn't barf he would feel full and I had a hard time getting him to eat.
What we did was this...taught him to breath through his mouth...taught him to sniff....made sure we had kleenex or softies when we went out ( toilet paper wouldn't do) And taught him to eat raisin bran, and popcorn so the snot gets pushed out of his tummy. And tang drink mix...we give him tang to drink.
I was bbbbboth sad and happy to see this asked...I thought he was the only one! Poor little guys, and gals huh?

our son had the same problem which also lead to runny eyes because he was rubbing his nose in an upward motion the germs were spreading. After 18mths of constant antibiotics and drops the GP tried a cream that you rub just on the inside of the nostrils it is used for staff infections, it worked a treat on our little boy and we have not had a flare up in months ( touch wood). And if your sons nose gets sore use Vaseline, don't clean it with wet wipes keep it dry it will only get chapped and get worse. Good luck.

Is your son still on baby milk. If he is on normal milk he may have an allergy to it. Have you tried soya milk. My son had the same problem and we changed and it stopped. He also could have an allergy. Do you have a cat or dog??. It may be an idea to stop using sprays for air freshener or deodorant and use something else. I only say this as my son had the same thing and he now has asthma and we stopped all theses things and he is much better. It maybe an idea to see a asthma nurse at your local gps. Even though your son may not have asthma they were very helpful

Hi.
Have you tried any of home medicine?
Try this along with any medication that he is on:
boil water in a pan (not kettle) with fresh lemon skin. The water will turn yellowish.
Give him to drink twice a day: in the morning and evening just before he goes to sleep. If you want to give him only once a day then best is the evening one. This should be drunk as hot as possible.Just don't get burn...
Hope he feels better :)

My son has the same problem but his seems to be when the weather changes. I wipe his nose with a wet wipe (because his nose is sore) and give him a decongestant medicine other than that I’m as stuck as you.
Good luck. I hope he gets better soon.

Sounds like he has a problem with his adenoids, you could try sitting in a steamed room, try adding menthol to the boiling water, sometimes helps. He should be able to get his adenoids treated if not now then around the age of 3.

It is due to protein & cows milk - move away to goat, soy milk. If doesn't work, dilute it. He has heat signs for green yellow mucus - so give him freshly squeezed orange juice - straight from the orange, no carton rubbish.
If running nose turns clear - give him ginger as ginger beer (diluted - if you prefer) - any without any artifical sweetners.

Try accupuncture - a friend spent 2k on trying to get his sinus cleared, did not work, then tried accupuncture and its gone for good. It is suitable for children.Look for a recommened local accupuncturist.
