Most people who become exposed to Hepatitis B clear it on their own. For the remaining 20% or so who go on to have chronic HBV infection, Hepatitis B can be treated. You need to be treated by a specialist (gastroenterologist); they know specifically about the liver and the medications used to treat it. Get in touch with a local support group so you can educate yourself about the disease and the treatment. Stay away from alcohol because that speeds up the damage to the liver, and once the liver is too damaged to function, you can't live. You don't want to have to go through transplantation if it can be prevented. I know many people who have been treated. Best wishes to you.

There may not be any cure but most people will clear it from their liver eventually. In the meantime there is plenty you can do to help your liver to recover - avoid alcohol and fatty foods for a start. Drink plenty of water every day and eat a healthy and balanced diet including fresh fruit and vegetables. Restrict your iron intake and avoid shellfish.
Try and take some exercise but rest if you get tired. If you feel low - remember that this is part of the illness and it will pass. Keep yourself entertained and be good to yourself!

The answer to this is quite simple:go and see your doctor. Failing that , if it is just information you are looking for, then keep surfing. use any of the larger surf-engines to help. Post-infetion Hep-b treatment is intensive and can be painful as it involves injections !!!
Prevention is better than cure - learn to be wise.

Watch your eating habits: ie no fried food for a while (a few weeks), no booze, no milk products.
I had this a number of years ago & the after effects can be terrible.
Start using vitamin B12, which will help your liver recover, and get to see your GP asap.

Believe it or not, you can get some REALLY helpful info from your local drug rehab centre - ask at your GPs for your nearest one.
