This is something that happens only once in a while, but usually when I lie down at night. I typically sleep on my left side. Sometimes, as soon as my head hits the pillow, I will have a sensation that feels like a huge artery or vein is pulsing on the left side of my head. It's a very strong racing pulsation, and can be scary. The location is a spot just above and slighty forward of my ear. Not sure if it's related, but I also occasionally have a slight feeling of numbness on the lower left side of my face, the area close to the corner of my mouth. It usually lasts just a few seconds, and may not happen again for days, weeks or months. Has anyone ever heard of or experienced these symptoms?

My friend is getting his gallbladder out next weekend. They take it though the belly button. He's a bit scared- and doesn't know if he'll be negatively effected. Does anyone have experience with this? Thanks.

I was recently told that the hepatites type a&b vaccines that I was given did not take. The health care provider that gave them to me two years ago is re-doing them again. I asked them if it was a good idea to continue to put this stuff in my body and the Nurse said there really wasen't any standards set for repeating the shots. Is there standards? If so, what are thay?

my daughter is 11 and has had a fever for the past 3 days and has been vomiting. Today she developed a rash over her chest, back, face, arms and upper legs. I took her to Urgent care today and they put her on an IV to rehydrate her. They diagnosed her with gastroenteritis (tummy flu). I have been looking up symptoms on the internet and havent found anything on here about getting a rash with gastroenteritis and also she doesnt have diarrhea or stomach aches at all and that is the main symptoms of it. I dont think that is what she has. I think they didnt know so they just called it something. any ideas of what she might have?

Hi! I have recently found out that a fellow co-worker has Hepatitis C. We work in a restaurant and she frequently prepares food. I must also add that her hygiene isn't the greatest which concerns me further. Should I be worried for myself and for my customers? Thanks in advance.

but that the way to fix it (if it doesn't fix itself within 48 hours) is to puncture the lung to "let the air out". I thought if it was collapsed then that means it hasn't inflated with air (picturing a deflated balloon) Can someone explain?

OK, has anyone out there been treated like crap in an Emergency room? I have. I overheard a nurse say "let's fast track her" once. Why, well I suppose it was because I visited their little ER room too many times in too short a time. I was never once rude, didn't want drugs, just some damn answers. I get refered to my familly Dr. who can only do so much, she refers me to an ortho. I get in to see him after 6 weeks. I suppose something is better than nothing. Doctor's and Nurses, If you are burned out in your profession please do something else until you remember why you chose it in the first place. Sorry, I don't feel so hot right now.

My MIL just had surgery for colon cancer. They've tested her lymph nodes, and received positive results on over half. She will be undergoing chemo after she's healed from the surgery. What, in someone's informed opinion, does her prognosis look like?

My question from last night , ie: PSVT's from the past, levostenosis, L4-L5 dics herniation hitting a nerve, severe pain, on percocet...yada, yada, yada. (that's how I feel) I received great advice from this site. Of course, today is Saturday and there are no Doctor's available. If I don't make sense it is because I can hardly type this stuff. I only took one pain pill this am. My pain is better, which is great. I usually have taken 4 by this time of day. Today, my heart rate is 74 bpm. I skip beats randmoly. I check my pulse only when I feel I will faint. My skipped beats go in random patterns, 3 beats..skip, then 12 beats, skip, skip, thump, there is no rhyme or reason to it. I got some good sleep. Why am I so weak?

I have trigeminal neuralgia, an agonising condition involving pressure on a nerve in my face. I am on epilepsy drugs but am tired and forgetful and still in pain. I really feel my life, which until last year was perfectly happy, isn't worth living. I have no idea why I suddenly got this. I am only 25. It first occured at quite a stressful time. I have also had root canal treatment on the same side of my face. Of course the dentist denies all involvement, but I can't help thinking this could have triggered it. Any ideas? Or remedies?
