Yes, we went on hayride. No fever or respiratory distress. Eyes look like conjunctivitis, but comes and goes. Lesions start round then merge and spread and then new ones appear where they seem to have cleared previously. Been to doctor many times over last six days. No clear answer. No inflamation of liver or kidneys. No fever. No change in disposition or energy.

Do they itch? sounds like an allergic reaction. If they are raised, or weeping, or the itching is excessive, or any shortness of breath I'd get him to a doctor forthwith(that means now)

I grew up on a farm, but we never planted pumpkins, but I am guessing that the vines are similar to cantaloupe or cucumbers which always used to make me break out a little bit when I had to pick them. The vines have very tiny "hairs" that can actually cut you a little bit if you rub against them in the right way. Since your son has very tender skin (being that he's a baby) it stands to reason that is probably what happened.

EDIT
Ok, just read your new details. Sounds like my original hypothesis was wrong. If it isn't an allergy, then I'm out of ideas. Good luck.

The pumpkins could have been sprayed with a pesticide and he is allergic to it.
