95% will be detcted after 6 wks .....okay except for people with immune disorders so why do we adopt the 6 months .....

there are various test which actually test for the actual virus antigen or antibody ....someone pls clarify

im 17years old and I get these realllllllllly bad pains on the left side of my stomach and it also gets really hard and i get diarhea
Ive been to 3 diff. doctors and have had tons!!! of blood work done! and also a stool sample that have all came out pretty normal i guess... and about a month and a half ago i went and saw a gastrologist and he thought mabe i have IBS (Irritated Bowel Syndrome) and he gave me some medician and told me to come back sept. 5th well ive been taken the medician but it seems like my stomach is almost getting worse! the other day i got the really bad pain and my stomach got really hard but i was like constipated and couldnt go to the bathroom so my mom told me to drink coffee and it helped and then the other i woke up at 4:30 in the morn. from the stomach pain and it was so bad!!! i was balling and i really felt like i was going to pass out! i took some imodium twice but i was in the bathroom 4 times! does any one have any idea of what could be wrong with me?

I have been diagnosed as having genital herpes. My last outbreak was a month ago. Right now I seem to have some kind of lesion. It's itchy, but its not in the genital area, more above it, on the pubic region (pubic mound). I don't know if that could be a sign of herpes or if its an ingrown hair - any advice?

My friends son suffers with severe depression,she is at her wits end to know what to do. For several years he was a drug addict and alcoholic,but went into rehab nearly three years ago. The thing is, he has been completely clean for nearly two years now,doesn't even smoke a cigarette, but suffers terrible bouts of severe depression and is suicidal. He feels there is nothing to live for, as he has spoilt his chances of ever meeting someone and being happy with a family. Nearing his 3Oth birthday,is a red light to his mum,as he has always said if he wasn't settled with anyone by then he would definitely end it all.She is in such a state,and within the last couple of days he seems to be allianating himself from the people he loves and who love him. He has never accepted that anti-depressants would be of a help to him,because of the drugs he has taken over the last l5 years.
His mum has tried to talk to him,he is a much loved person, but he can't see his worth. What can she do?

As a child I had very severe asthma but have since grown out of it, somewhat. I live like a walking pharmacy though, and I know most of these medicines in the doses I have been taking will probably lead to health problems later. My question is, I read about all these alternative medicines and some look like they may work without developing later problems, but what you read on the internet is not always reliable and I want to know the experiences people have had with them.

I take 100 units AM and PM of lantes, the dr says my insulin is not carrying the insulin to or thru my mussles.. So i quit taking it all to gether now my sugar is 500+.Am i doing right by not taking my insulin?

I get horrible headaches that last for days and excedrin only works half the time. I also get alot of sinus pressure so I'm not sure if this is sinus trouble or migraines. I've been told several years ago that I have chronic headaches but I'm trying to determine if I should go to the doctor or ride it out because it could be allergies. About the FDA approval of spraying of LIVE VIRUSES on processed meat products like hot dogs and lunch meats. I was hoping some friendly Yahoo Answerer could clarify this for me, as it seems that:

1) Viruses are generally bad, are incurable, and spreadable
2) Hot Dogs are consumed within large hubs of civilization (e.g. New York Street vendors.)
3) Viruses tend to MUTATE from time to time.

Now I could be wrong here, and maybe there are some friendly viruses. But isn't there the potential here for something catastrophically bad to happen?

Is it true it goes away or you have it for life? I have done so much research that some people say it goes away(including my own doctor and online) and some say it will stay there forever said some doctors online and other people online. Some have said if you immune system is strong enough it will fight off the virus.That is why women under 30 dont get hpv test when they get a pap smear because it will eventually go away in most cases. What is true? Does it stay forever or can it eventually go away?

I have a hard knot on my back and it's getting bigger. I have a bubble in my neck too. I am not a hideous person or anything - rather average really. I have been feeling VERY odd lately - always exhausted, so very forgetful, I cannot concentrate on anything. I have been saying things backwards, and writing things backwards. I am usually a very bright and witty person, and lately I have been struggling to get out the right words period. I can't afford to go to a doctor unless I really need to. Any suggestions? 5 days ago my 7 year old daughter started having fevers. No other sign of illness except when the fever is high she has head aches and either muscle or joint pain. It is hard to tell which at her age. This weekend she complained she complained that a painful bump on the very bottom of her bottom. It is very red and about the swize of a silver dollar and has a yellowish pussie head to it. After 4 night of high fever of 102 - 103 we took her to the ER last night and the doctor there said it was some kind of bite that has become infected, they putt her on medication for it but this morning her fever is back up to 103.2. We are hot packing it with epson salt and that helps the pain.

I need to know what kind of bug could cause this kind of reaction? Is this a one time thing or do I need to bomb my house? I don't know what I am looking for to prevent my daughter from getting sick ago. Can someone help? I live in a small mountain town but never have had a problem with bugs before. Thank

My 8 year old had a vision test yesterday. He’s a bit nearsighted but so are his mother and I so no surprise. However the optometrist detected that his optic nerves are bulging which he said could be simply calcium deposits but “to be safe” the office is referring us to a children's retinal specialist (an othomologist). They are even making the appointment to get us right in. If you google calcium deposits + optic nerves + kids the list of brain tumors is extensive. My question is how worried should I be? I’m a calm person but I’m starting to worry. He’s had no other symptoms of brain issues that I have detected.
