It depends how he got it, but this is along the same lines of finding out your partner has cancer, would you leave then? I mean yes HIV is different, if they got it from cheating then prolly not a good idea to be with that person even if they did not contract an STD. If you truly love someone I do not agree with leaving because of a disease, it can be worked through. If you feel strongly about not wanting to care for someone who is sick or whtever the situation is then you need to be blunt when you meet people. I cant imagine it would ring to lightly on someones ears to hear, we have been together for 5 yrs, but now that you had a blood transfusion and contracted HIV I dont want to be with you.

Actually it would depend on when you found out you had HIV.
Obviosly, you know how to get it, so the main concern would be the timing issue.
Then you would have ot decide the factors in the relationship.
How long together, how strong is the relationship, and is the love going to still be there when all said and done.

Hello,
It depends on the situtaion, for this senario..if a man was to cheat and got hiv, why would any fully-functioning human being..in this case it could be a female, want to stay with their partner....clearly there isn't any trust ....

As mean as it may sound, I don't believe I could stay with someone who had it...nor would I encourage anyone to stay with me if I had it...how they acquired it wouldn't be an issue, and wouldn't change the risk to those around them...
...nor would I dig knowing that sex was over as long as I was with that person...I'd never feel safe/comfortable...

Well, you have to ask yourself.. how did they get it? If they really loved you.. would'nt they have waited?
That's just how i see things, but I mean getting an STD isn't always (notice I said always) your fault. If you wanna stay with him/her, then I suggest that you be reeeeeeeeeeeeely safe.
And to answer your question (being in your shoes) if my girlfriend (whom I love dearly) managed to get an std, I'd still love her with all of me. Hope that's the same for you too..
