The doctors told me for 10 years it was a cyst. Finally when I was 27 a new doctor told me to get it checked out further. Have had 3 biopsies in 3 years. The first showed it was just an over growth of normal tissue. Then it grew back a year later in the same spot. They followed me for 2 more years, every six months. The last biopsy showed proliferative atypical cells. I'm 31 now and my mom had breast cancer. This diagnosis means that I don't have cancer right now, however put me in the high risk category for breast cancer and offered me hormone therapy which I declined. Point is you never know what it is until you find a good doctor. YOU NEED A GOOD DOCTOR. Go see a breast disease specialist.

I'm so sorry, I want to say please don't worry too much till you know what it is but I know from personal experience how difficult that can be.
There are things besides breast cancer that could have caused this lump, it may well be only a cyst and I do hope it is but only your doctor will be able to tell you, after s/he has examined you and received results from your mammogram (and biopsy should the latter prove neccessary).
Please be re-assured that by going to her/him as soon as possible after you have noticed this lump you are doing absolutely the right thing and are ensuring that any treatment you may need will have the very best possible chance of success.
If it is what you fear trying to have a positive attitude will help you enormously - when I was diagnosed I said to myself, "This is not going to beat me" and, three and a half years down the line, I'm still fine. I was told I had a three centimetre tumour and during the weeks before my operation I visualised it being slowly pecked away at round the edges. I don't know how accurately they can measure them prior to surgery but after my op they told me it was only two centimetres! And every day since my op I've taken a few minutes out to tell myself I am going to continue to be healthy.
God bless you and all the very best of luck.

I know it is easier said than done but try not to worry. I have had the same thing that turned out to be a fibroid. They told me to cut down on cafenine and start taking an extra vitamin e. You always hear so many different things. I was told that if they moved around then that was a good sign?? who knows?? I feel sure that you will be fine and know that I am thinking and praying about you because no matter what it is still a scary experience.

Many women find cyst in their breast. It is best to have it checked out. Insist on a biopsy. Remember over 80% of breast lumps are benign (no cancer)

Probably not, but always get things like that checked out. Always regard any change in color of your skin, lumps and anything else unusual or different on your body as cancer until proven otherwise. That way, you'll get it checked, biopsied (and always demand a biopsy!!!!)you'll be alive a whole lot longer, and not waste a lot of time worrying.....

I had this too. Don't worry until it's time to worry, sweetie.
Mine turned out to be a cyst caused by too much caffeine. It was actually a water cyst and not a big deal. Of course I went to the doc who sent me for a mammogram then went to a specialist who actually drained it in her office and sent me on my way.
I hope you have the same luck that I did!

there is no way to tell until you go to the dr. lump could mean nothing or lump could be serious. at least it is small that does make a difference if it is cancer.

Could be a cyst of fibrosis. A mammogram and possible biopsy will probably be done unless he can diagnose a cyst.
