go back to the doctor, more specifically, go to a gastroenterologist. He may reccommend a colonoscopy, lower GI radiology study, or a CT scan, but most likely a colonoscopy.

IBS is aggrivated by stress and diet, if you actually have been diagnosed with it, make sure you eat lots of fiber, take fiber supplements with your breakfast, as it can help in preventing irregular bowel movements.

But go see a GI doc

If he gave you Zelnorm, my regrets. IBS is a bear to deal with if indeed you have it. You might try a stool softener if your stools tend to he hard. Sometimes fiber (metamucil) only makes the problem worse....You should have a routine in the morning before your day starts that you set aside to relax, get some coffee, and get things started. This should be a quiet time for you -- read the paper, do a crossword puzzle, and do not ignore the urge to go.... the reflex that allows your bowel to move is acquired, it is often referred to as a "let down" rather like an up tight mom trying to produce milk and can't because she is too "Up tight". If you indeed have IBS, one of the factors that make it worse is anxiety. And along with IBS, you probably get really bad stomach cramps. There are tons of other meds that quit the cramping in the bowel and stomach --- one is dicyclomine. So, your problem could be anything from anxiety, reactions to Zelnorm, if you are taking it, Crohn's disease, to host of other possibilities. Wikipedia Bowel Diseases for more info, and Web md as well. In your place, I'd ask my parents to get an Gastro Int. guy to do a colonoscopy to see if things are normal. Then, go from there.... good luck, sweetie.... been there

It could be irritable bowel syndrome, but it could be Crohn's, anxiety, celiac disease, lactose intolerance, or even food allergies. Have you had a colonoscopy or a lower GI series ? Also, not everyone with IBS benefits from medication. I manage mine by avoiding triggers like stress, and foods that I know will cause a flare. Nutrasweet is a big one for me..........one can of diet soda and I'm in pain for days. And not every trigger causes a flare every time. I can eat a bowl of French onion soup one day and be fine........the next time, I'm in the bathroom for hours. So, I just don't eat it.
I think you need to see your GI doc sooner and tell him what's going on. Sounds like you could benefit from some further investigation. Good Luck!!!

Probably you either have a stomach bug or you ate something that disagreed with you. However, that something is probably not from this morning but from last night. Also, if this keeps happening to you, go to the doctor and see if maybe you're lactose intolerant. Mc Donalds Chicken Nuggets arent the best health food though.....

There are other disorders your doctor could look into besides IBS, such as Crohn's disease or colitis. Maybe you can make a follow up appointment sooner than Sept. 5th. Good luck to you!

That does sound like IBS- if your meds are making you feel worse, don't wait to see your doc.- call him right away- you may be having an adverse reaction to that particular medication. Sometimes, it takes trying a few different ones before you find one that is suited to your body and the correct dosage.

Good luck!

My doctor thought I had IBS at one point. After more thorough investigation (colonoscope, stool cultures, blood work) he found out I actually have colitis. Your should ask your doctor for thorough testing to find out exactly what the problem is. That's the only way you'll be able to find out what it is and to treat it properly.

I'm sorry that you're dealing with these problems...

I have a friend who went through something similar to what you talked about, and she was diagnosed with Crohn's disease. It's sometimes confused with IBS because it causes diarrhea and upset stomach.

Anyway, your symptoms might be a little different, but it's worth looking into it. (I put two helpful websites under "sources," but you can also just type "Crohn's disease" into Google.)

Good luck, & I hope you feel better soon!

if you find out, let me know because I have the simlar symtoms sometimes. I think it's probably gas. I'm taking Protonix or Prevacid. It's helping me alot.

Similar case tonight on Primetime's "Medical Mysteries". They have a test for armchair doctors. The show concluded that the patient had a allergic reaction to a medicine the patient was taken for her skins out of these choices: a) parasite b)cancer c)pneumonia and c)allergic reactions.

i think that you might have some stomach ulcer. visit a gastrologist soon and try to get an 'barium meal' test. this shows the ulcers in your stomach.you can also do the test without a doc's advice. my hubby had gas problems and went and did this test.
