I've got braces since a week ago and I was wondering if I could ride horses again. Do I need a mouth gear to protect my teeth? I'm working in a stable and it'll be boring if I can't ride for the next 2 years because I have braces.

I'm trying out this Colgate Maxi Fresh. It is considered "the first and only toothpaste infused with cooling crystals that dissolve in the mouth completely upon brushing to release an intense rush of breath freshening power."

I read that leaving part of the periodontal ligament that attached tooth root to bone in the socket can lead to the site being infected by anearobic bacteria and becoming like cesspools filled with toxins that can cause a myriad of health problems if ones body can't quarantine the toxins for whatever reason; suppressed immune system from antibiotics, etc.

But I am missing the two molars near this tooth and I was thinking why should I treat this teeth and pay $800 for root canal, instead to just pull it out since is cheaper and since I am going to do either an implant or a denture for the next neighbor teeth. Am I right or the dentist? I know many dentists are just looking to take more money instead of the patient's interest. That's why I am asking you r opinion.Thanks.

Just this evening I started getting pain on one side of my jaw. I do have the tendency to grind my teeth and it's the side where my teeth touch more (I haven't been wearing my night guard as often as I should). So it could be my jaw that hurts. But it's possible it's a tooth too. I plan on calling the dentist tomorrow if it continues. I've taken some Tylenol, but what else can I do tonight? Can I use heat? Or should it be cold?

Okay, so I had come cavities the last time I went to the dentist and I've had SO much going on that I wasn't able to get back. I'm going tomorrow and now I'm concerned that I'll have to have a root canal. I have no pain in my teeth, but I'm a big baby when it comes to the dentist so I'm probably concerned about nothing. How do you know if you need a root canal? And are they painful to have done? Because I'm freaked out beyond belief that I'll end up needing one.

Will my permanent porcelain dental bridge look more like teeth? I just had a temporary bridge put in and it doesn't look realistic to me and I am self conscious. If anyone has had bridgework and could shed some light on the subject I would like to know.

my mom has a crack in her root canal, and has an infection that won't go away, it is in one of her molars. it has to be puled and she'll get a replacement one(fake tooth) that will be permanent, but might damage her mouth in the long run, and the infection won't go away if the tooth isn't pulled. the operation costs around $800-$1200 and we are fixing up a house that we will move into in mid june, is thereany other way to get rid of the infection? Please help!
